Hello,
Whether you are a dev or a community member, would you kindly let me know what you think of these ideas?
Conditional access requirements
Private space: instead of a simple "Request Access" button, space owners could define one or more conditions, for example:
- enter an access code;
- answer a question;
- write a short application;
- accept specific rules;
- meet predefined requirements (e.g. complete profile fields).
Mandatory spaces (that you can't leave)
Allow administrators to designate certain spaces asΒ compulsory,Β preventing users from leaving them. This would be useful for spaces such asΒ Announcements,Β Welcome, etc.
Link courses to spaces
Allow one or more courses to be associated with a space.
Examples:
- enrolling in a course automatically grants access to its space;
- a space can be restricted to enrolled students
- the space can also serve as an internal way to promote courses related to the space topic.
Limit the number of joined spaces
Could the maximum number of spaces a user may join depend on:
- paid membership;
- community level or leaderboard points;
- administrator-defined permissions?
For example, free members could joinΒ 2 spaces, while premium members would haveΒ unlimited access.
Remove the descriptions displayed beneath each space access type. The labels Public, Private, and Secret are already self-explanatory, and the additional text adds unnecessary visual clutter. The description is quite redundant across the community.
Instead of opening a space directly on the discussion feed, add a dedicated Overview (or Home) tab that serves as the space's main page. This page could highlight the most important information, such as the space's guidelines and announcements, before users jump into the discussion.
Do you think these features would be technically feasible in future updates?
More generally, I'd be interested in understanding how you envision integrating a membership system with space permissions, course access, community levels, and limits on the number of spaces a user can join. The current paywall implementation is quite limited. It only supports placing one space at a time behind a paywall, and the configuration process could be much more intuitive (for a noob like me at least!)
Thank you!
I have a couple of advertisers that might really like having links like that on the site. Is there a way I can do that. Not sure what size it is but it looks cool. How can I set that up on my site?
Hi everyone,
I'm experiencing an issue with the course module metadata. The number of lessons shown is correct, but the total duration does not match the combined duration of the lessons.
For example, in the screenshot, only the first lesson in the module contains a 49-minute video (FluentPlayer). The other lessons contain audio files (also using FluentPlayer) of around 12 minutes each. However, the total duration shown is only 15 minutes.
I'm running the latest versions of FluentCommunity and WordPress.
Is this a general bug?
Is there a way to force the module durations to recalculate?
If not, how can I hide this number?
Thank you in advance!

I don't know why but my verified check is the only check. The users I migrated from buddypress don't have it and I can't find this feature to give them the check.
I think it might be helpful if Members Directory can have new Tab "Managers" or something similar where you can filter all Admins, Mods, Course creators etc. Simply if some community member need mod help, he can easily find him in directory. It can also contain custom badges filtering. What do you think?
I'm moving away from BuddyBoss, LearnDash, Elementor Pro to... something and am considering Fluent. Has anyone done this? What was your experience? How difficult is migrating existing groups, chats, user details/bio's, courses, lessons, etc. And how easy is Fluent to customize and style? I can keep Elementor Pro if I have to, but I ideally don't want to.
Wish there was a way to demo Fluent like there is BuddyBoss before making a purchase.
This is extremely important, given that the ultimate goal is to drive business and sales through the community. There is no mention of this in the documentationβand I know there is no official supportβbut is there a workaround to at least partially solve this?
Right now have 20+ recent notifications. Some are more important to me so those I want to keep in the list other things I just want to remove. Right now there is a blue dot next to the text/post. What about switching the blue dot with an X and having it as its own link to the right of the text link that goes to the post. So that one can click the X and have the specific text/post removed from the notification list? This means the recent notification becomes a mini favorite list of things I still want a closer look at.
Hmm I got a feeling that there is something I am not grasping correctly....
Is anyone using an analytics tool to track individual logged in users on a FluentCommunity site? I've tried UserMaven and WP Statistics and they don't seem to be working ?
On the right sidebar I see there are 5 featured posts and 5 recent space activities here in the FluentCommunity Founders space. I don't see a setting to make this happen in our community. There is only four. How do I get the 5?
