Using fluent community with fluent auth, so not sure which is effecting this, but users get logged out to much and we want to extend the cookie or whatever is causing the constant log outs, can I fix this?

The current group sidebar in FluentCommunity feels unnecessarily cluttered because administrative actions such as “Make admin,” “Leave group,” and “Delete group” are permanently visible.

These are occasional actions, not things users need every time they open a group. Keeping them permanently displayed takes up valuable space and makes the interface feel more like an admin panel than a messaging/community experience.

It would be much cleaner to move these actions behind a three-dot menu, Group Settings, or Manage Group option.

For example, “Make admin” could be available from a menu when interacting with a specific member, while “Leave group” and “Delete group” could be placed under the group options/settings menu.

The main sidebar should focus on useful group information and the member list, while administrative and destructive actions should only appear when needed.

This would make the group experience cleaner, less cluttered, and more intuitive.

Fluent Community needs more granular control. Having only a few predefined roles isn’t enough, especially when different users need different levels of access and permissions.

The current roles in FluentCommunity seem well suited to a WPManageNinja-style business, where the community is mainly built around a company, its products, customers, and support team.

However, this role structure doesn’t fit many other types of businesses or communities. For example, an education platform may need separate permissions for students, instructors, mentors, course managers, and external experts. A professional membership community might need members, chapter leaders, moderators, partners, and event organizers.

FluentCommunity would be much more flexible if administrators could create custom roles and define granular permissions for each role, rather than being limited to a small set of predefined roles.

I noticed the short name character limit is 12. My community brand name is 13 characters. So, this has had me wondering about two aspects:

1. Why is it 12 characters? Just trying to understand the technical logic behind it. I see apps on my phone that have 13-14-character names. (E.g., Authenticator, Adobe Express, Zoho Workplace, etc.).

2. I was already in a dilemma about whether to go for a shorter brand name. (My post about this.) I already have a shorter version domain name booked that's just 8 characters. (I haven't launched my community yet, so I still often get into thinking whether I should go for the shorter name.)

And now, I'm seeing that the shorter name won't have any issues with the app naming as well. So, it has increased the intensity of my dilemma. 😭

We're in the process of migrating from LearnDash to FluentCommunity. I have two questions:

1. We need to reset the course progress for users in specific cases. How can we do this?
2. With LearnDash we're running a FluentCRM Automation that resets the course progress of a participant of a specific course after they completed it. Reason is that members have to go through the course every month. Is there a way to automate course reset via FluentCRM?

It’s difficult for me to keep up with all the third-party add-ons and plugins that enhance and extend Fluent products. But I think there a lot of potentially helpful and useful tools getting lost in the sauce.
