Dynamic Announcement & "What's New" Modal
Hi everyone,
I'd like to suggest a feature that would improve communication and member engagement within the community: a popup modal system for announcements and updates.
This is similar to what platforms like WhatsApp or Facebook use when introducing new features or important updates.
Primary Use Cases
- Announce new features, bug fixes, or community updates.
- Broadcast important reminders or urgent notices.
- Guide members or encourage specific actions (e.g., completing an incomplete profile).
Key Technical Specifications
-
Admin Dashboard & Management
- A dedicated admin dashboard to easily create, edit, configure, and manage popup announcements.
-
Seamless Integration & Native UX
- Native compatibility with Fluent Community's UI.
- Full Dark Mode support (automatically adapting to the user's selected theme).
- Standard closing behavior: Closeable via a "X" button, an action button, or by clicking outside the modal (overlay click), matching Fluent Community's existing modal behavior.
-
Display Behavior & Frequency
- One-time display: Once dismissed by the member, it won't pop up again for that specific notice.
- Versioning / Announcement ID system: If an urgent fix or new update occurs, creating a new modal (or updating the announcement ID) triggers it to display again for all relevant members.
-
Targeting Options (Essential)
- Ability to target display based on member profile criteria (e.g., incomplete profile, missing avatar, specific user roles, new members, etc.).
- Option for global display targeting all active members.
What do you think? This would offer excellent visibility for crucial updates without cluttering the main activity feed.
