Collapsible Left Menu

Currently, the left-side menu in Fluent Community occupies a significant amount of screen space. It would be very helpful to make the menu collapsible or resizable, allowing users to hide or minimize it when not needed.

Benefits:

  • Provides more workspace for reading and writing content.
  • Improves the user experience on smaller screens and laptops.
  • Keeps the interface cleaner and less cluttered.

Suggested Implementation:

  • Add a collapse/expand toggle button to the top of the left menu.
  • Optionally, remember the user’s last state (collapsed or expanded) for convenience.

This small UI improvement would greatly enhance usability and flexibility across devices.

I'm actually surprised not to see this feature. With the interface being so polished, this detail is sorely missed. I hope they add it in future updates. I think a colleague added it so I could vote for it: https://community.wpmanageninja.com/fluentcommunity-roadmp/#/idea/250/

100% agree. It's very important. It would be great to hide/collapse FC’s left column. I know it auto-collapses when the browser window is narrowed and then a floating menu appears. But I’d like to be able to do it even in full screen with a button, kind of like Todoist (when you are logged): https://app.todoist.com/app/

In any case it should be quite easy to do it on your own if you are able to write a  mu-plugin

Absolutely agreed. Many users don't need to look at this at all. They should be able to hide it or at least collapse it to just show the icons. It's a big problem for my use case.
