Hi everyone,
I run a membership community on FluentCommunity Pro (a few thousand members, mostly non-technical). Members log in and spend all their time inside the FC portal.
The gap: a logged-in member has no way to change their own password from within the portal/profile. The only path available is to log out and use the "Forgot password" email reset flow. For non-technical users this is confusing, "I know my current password, I just want to change it, why do I have to log out and check my email?", and it generates avoidable support requests.
I've already raised this with support, who confirmed there's no native/hidden setting for it and forwarded the request to R&D. I'm posting here to give it visibility and to ask about the best current approach.
I currently rely on a custom page outside the portal as a stopgap, but I'd much rather have this handled inside FluentCommunity itself.
My questions:
- Is a native in-profile "Change Password" option for logged-in users on the roadmap? Any rough idea of timing?
- In the meantime, is there a recommended/supported way to expose password change inside the portal, hook, action, or endpoint FluentCommunity already provides, rather than a fully custom page?
- For other admins: how are you handling this for your members today?
Thanks!
Is there a feature that allows members to create their own spaces? The wait is almost over.
Tomorrow I'm going LIVE to launch FluentPlayer Pro to everyone. This is our new flagship product, and I want you there when it happens.
The free version went out just a few days ago and 1,000+ websites are already running it. Tomorrow you will see what the Pro version can really do.
Here is what I have planned for the stream:
- The full Pro walkthrough. Lead capture inside your videos, engagement analytics, smart CTAs, and a few things nobody has seen yet
- The roadmap, where we are taking FluentPlayer next
- Live AMA, ask me anything
- And a special launch-day announcement I'm saving for the stream π

Want to see everything it does first? Full feature list is here: https://fluentplayer.com/
If you have been waiting to do more with video on your WordPress site, this is the day. See you there!
PS: Already using the free version? Comment what you would love to see in Pro. I might answer it live.
Any possibility about having CPT, custom fields, etc.
hello, please make sure when transfering from buddyboss to FC the FluentPlayer can be used when transfer is complete. now it seems i have to upload every video separately. that is impossible.
Hello,
I might be missing something very obvious, but how do I do it?
I already have a video in fluent player hosted on bunny, now how do I add it to fluent community post? (not a lesson)
Thank you,
Giorgio
First of all, thank you for the fantastic work you're doing. I've been testing FluentPlayer in a community environment, and the experience has been excellent so far. The performance and continuous improvements have been very impressive.
I have a few feature requests that I believe would make FluentPlayer an even better fit for community platforms like FluentCommunity.
1. Automatically display videos based on their aspect ratio
It would be great if the player could automatically adjust its display based on the uploaded video's aspect ratio.
- Landscape videos should be displayed in a landscape layout.
- Portrait videos should be displayed in a portrait layout.
This would make the community feed look much more natural and modern.
2. Keep users on the same post after exiting fullscreen
Currently, if a user watches a video in fullscreen and exits fullscreen after the video ends, the page jumps back to the top of the community feed.
Instead, it would be much better if the user returned to the exact post where the video was opened. This small improvement would create a much smoother browsing experience, especially in long feeds.
3. Auto-pause videos when they leave the viewport
If a playing video is scrolled out of view, it should automatically pause. This is now a common behavior across modern social platforms and helps avoid unnecessary playback in the background.
4. Allow video uploads for verified users
It would be a great addition if administrators could enable video uploads only for verified users (or specific user roles).
This would be especially useful for large communities, where video uploads need to be limited to trusted members while still encouraging high-quality content. Giving admins the flexibility to choose which users or roles can upload videos would make FluentPlayer even more suitable for community-driven websites.
Overall, I believe these improvements would significantly enhance the experience for both community owners and members.
Thank you for continuously improving FluentPlayer. I'm excited to see how it evolves in future releases!
Is there an easy way to put FluentCommunity in maintenance mode while doing upgrades? I tried a couple WordPress maintenance plugins but they don't stop FC access. I added some code that blocks access, including REST access, but it still displays the top and side menus. The maintenance notice text is shown in a popup error box that disappears after a few seconds. This is acceptable but I'd prefer to be able to block all access (no menus) and just display a notice instead of any FC content. I do have that part working for pages that use the FC Theme Compatibility function.
Thanks!
When you delete conversation with some member, chat window gets bugged like you see on screenshot.

Hello team!
Would it be possible to get a bit more insight into the plans for FluentSocket once it leaves beta?
Is it already the service powering the real-time chat in this community? If so, how do you envision it differentiating itself from services like Pusher in the long term?
Also, any updates on when the next Fluent Community release is expected? I'm particularly looking forward to the fix for the Fluent Messaging GDPR issue that currently allows any member, regardless of their role, to enumerate users (we can not use it safely with EU users without this fix).
Thank you!
