I noticed the short name character limit is 12. My community brand name is 13 characters. So, this has had me wondering about two aspects:

1. Why is it 12 characters? Just trying to understand the technical logic behind it. I see apps on my phone that have 13-14-character names. (E.g., Authenticator, Adobe Express, Zoho Workplace, etc.).

2. I was already in a dilemma about whether to go for a shorter brand name. (My post about this.) I already have a shorter version domain name booked that's just 8 characters. (I haven't launched my community yet, so I still often get into thinking whether I should go for the shorter name.)

And now, I'm seeing that the shorter name won't have any issues with the app naming as well. So, it has increased the intensity of my dilemma. 😭

We're in the process of migrating from LearnDash to FluentCommunity. I have two questions:

1. We need to reset the course progress for users in specific cases. How can we do this?
2. With LearnDash we're running a FluentCRM Automation that resets the course progress of a participant of a specific course after they completed it. Reason is that members have to go through the course every month. Is there a way to automate course reset via FluentCRM?

It’s difficult for me to keep up with all the third-party add-ons and plugins that enhance and extend Fluent products. But I think there a lot of potentially helpful and useful tools getting lost in the sauce.

Hi! When I use Google Translate to translate my community, the result isn’t bad, but it is too literal.

I understand that translating user-generated posts contextually isn't really feasible. However, I would at least like the community’s interface strings to be translated naturally and in context. For example, “Feed” is translated far too literally in many languages (like "food intake"), so I would need the option to review and manually edit individual translations.

Which plugin would you recommend if I want to:

• translate interface strings contextually and manually refine the translations when necessary;
• allow users to choose their language from a large list? (like google translate does when you right click to translate)

Is there an option to migrate community data in FluentCommunity? I’m planning to move it from a subdomain to the main domain.

Hi everyone 👋

We run a fitness community on FluentCommunity around 116 course videos, ~16k views/month. Our members follow 30-40 minute workouts at home, so watching on a TV instead of a phone is the main use case, not a bonus feature.

The problem: we keep getting support requests from members who can't cast lesson videos to their TV. What's interesting is that the reports come also from recent devices.

Videos are hosted on Bunny Stream and embedded in lessons with Bunny's standard iframe. Before posting I ruled out everything on the Bunny side:

• DRM (MediaCage) → off
• Embed view token auth + CDN token auth → both off
• Allowed domains → our domains + *.gstatic.com (the one Chromecast needs)
• "Block direct URL file access" → off, so referer-less requests from cast receivers are allowed
• AirPlay + Chromecast controls → both enabled in the player
• Embed URL → no disableIosPlayer parameter

My working theory is the ManagedMediaSource change: since iOS 17.1 Safari allows JS players to handle playback via MSE, and AirPlay is known to break when that happens, where before, iPhones were forced into native HLS and AirPlay always worked.

So, three questions:

1. Does FluentCommunity wrap or sanitize third-party embeds in lessons — extra iframe layer, stripped allow attributes, sandbox? If the embed ends up nested, are Permissions Policy directives passed down to the inner frame?
2. Does FluentPlayer handle AirPlay / Chromecast, and does it use native HLS on iOS or a JS player?
3. Has anyone here got casting working reliably from lesson videos? If yes, what's your setup: Bunny, Vimeo, Cloudflare Stream, FluentPlayer, self-hosted? I'd rather copy something that's known to work than keep debugging blind.
