The App (PWA) Short Name Character Limit
I noticed the short name character limit is 12. My community brand name is 13 characters. So, this has had me wondering about two aspects:

Why is it 12 characters? Just trying to understand the technical logic behind it. I see apps on my phone that have 13-14-character names. (E.g., Authenticator, Adobe Express, Zoho Workplace, etc.).

I was already in a dilemma about whether to go for a shorter brand name. (My post about this.) I already have a shorter version domain name booked that's just 8 characters. (I haven't launched my community yet, so I still often get into thinking whether I should go for the shorter name.)
And now, I'm seeing that the shorter name won't have any issues with the app naming as well. So, it has increased the intensity of my dilemma. 😭
Would appreciate thoughts from the FC team and community members. TIA! 💚
The recommended length for a PWA "short name" is under 12 characters, so it fits well in space-constrained contexts - Mozilla's PWA spec's are what I follow and suspect FC do the same - https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Progressive_web_apps also worth noting "short name" doesn't work on all devices! None of it reliably works on "all" devices 😂
