FluentCommunity 2.6.0 is here π
Still buzzing from meeting so many of you at WordCamp Europe. Now back to shipping, and this one's all about Courses. It's the first real answer to that "where should we take Courses next" thread we opened a few weeks back. You spoke, we shipped π
Here's what's new π
π¬ Course Welcome Banners: Every course can now have its own welcome banner with two separate views. The Not Enrolled view turns your course into a proper landing page (bold image or intro video, headline, description, CTA buttons straight to enrollment or a free preview). The Enrolled view is for that personal welcome video or "start here" message once someone joins. Set both up from a dedicated tab in Course Edit, no page builder or theme files needed.
π Duplicate Lessons and Quizzes in one click: The one everyone's been asking for. Copy any lesson or quiz (full content, settings, and for quizzes every question and answer) and tweak only what's different. Build from a known-good lesson instead of starting from scratch.
βοΈ A smoother Quiz Editor: Cleaner question modal, easier reordering, brand-colored inputs, and fully keyboard-accessible now.
π‘οΈ Require Approval for First Comment: Spam usually shows up on the first comment. This new Moderation option holds a member's first comment for review, then they comment freely. Works just like first-post approval.
β¨ A feed that feels more alive New posts and comments glow when you publish, embedded videos get instant thumbnails, image galleries show a page indicator, and reply threads stay open while you keep replying.
Plus: Theme-aware status colors on course cards, German (de_DE) translation files in Pro, and a solid list of fixes (polls, notification privacy, lesson video loading, iPad Safari, Bunny Stream embeds, and more).

More coming π
A quick note on updating:
You may not see this latest version right away due to WordPress.org's new security cool-down period. After the 24-hour cool-down, the update will show up as normal.
If you want it instantly, you can useΒ FluentHubΒ (previously FluentKit) to grab the update right away.
FluentHub download:Β https://static.wpmanageninja.com/fluent-toolkit.zip
This is sooooo cool - Thanks for adding 'Course Welcome Banners'
It says - Heads UP: FluentCommunity Base Plugin needs to be updated to the latest version. Click here to update
But I can't see an update for the base plugin
Bryan WilliamΒ Looks like WP Plugin Repo will distribute the update after 24 hours. Looks like we need a work-around for this.
Shahjahan JewelΒ Okay, thanks... I'm patiently waiting
Shahjahan JewelΒ I am pateitnelty waiting as well
Robin MudgeΒ delete the base plugin and reinstall it. it works
Bryan WilliamΒ Thanks, that works
This are great updates, thanks alot! π€©
Lovely! great update to the courses! well done Ninja's π₯·
One thing I have brought to attention with support is that an author or instructor of a course wont get notified of comments of a course they are part of if they are also not the person who uploaded the course. Only the course uploader receives notifications. So if an IT department uploads an instructors course the IT department gets the students comments not the instructor of the course. There is no setting to change this notification feature over to an author or instructor unfortunately. What if there are two instructors for a course? or a community / course manager? be nice to add more than one person to receive notifications on course comments.
This is an over sight yes... fingers crossed this issue gets corrected sooner than later π€
Morgan McArthurΒ Thanks for raising the issue. It will be updated in next release.
Md. Ariful IslamΒ Great! thanks for being on it!
Amazing updates! It would be so nice if we could sort these columns in the Course Students table

And a Short Question quiz type is also much needed. Where users can type the answer instead of selecting from a list.
Abu Hurayra, this 'Written Answer' type will come soon; stay tuned.
Abu HurayraΒ +1 for sorting
Abu Hurayra Nicolas D Helmar Rudolph, sorting in space member list and course student list has been added.
In course, except 'Progress', the others have been added in v2.8.0.
It says - Heads UP: FluentCommunity Base Plugin needs to be updated to the latest version. Click here to update
But I can't see an update for the base plugin
Bryan WilliamΒ you can delete the base plugin and reinstall it
Have you done this Christophe Pasquier? I'm worried that deleting it might reset some settings.
Christophe PasquierΒ thanks very much, it works...
Thank you for the consistent developments
Thank you π
At what point does the welcome banner appear?
Great updates - now to check my addons still work π
Shahjahan JewelΒ And will it finally be possible to use the search engine to find not only the content of the spaces but also the content of the courses? Because I still don't understand why the search engine doesn't allow you to find anything within the courses and lessons. I hope you've taken this into account. Otherwise, great work, guys!
Great update, nice work Fluent team ππ
You still have a BUG. The notice about updating won't go away even after updating on the forum page.
Debo OgunrindeΒ Yes, my scroll never showed the opening messages. However the work around is just download basic community plugin and reinstall it and it's fine.
Paul AbernathyΒ A quick note on updating:

Shahjahan JewelΒ It worked. I like the new FluentHub. Thanks
Itβs a pity you didnβt focus on user feedback. :(
After the update, posts in spaces extend beyond the screen ππ

Mat KycΒ the team is looking into it.
Awesome!
Shahjahan JewelΒ FluentCommunity offers many advanced features that are better than Skool, but some minor features are worse, such as:
- Drag-and-drop to flexibly sort courses instead of rigidly sorting by name. When designing an entire course according to a roadmap, it's very inconvenient to have to number them.
- The icons displaying the course list (on mobile) are very confusing; they look more like settings icons and don't allow changes, and many versions still haven't been updated.
Topics are also affected; FluentCommunity doesn't allow custom sorting, forcing a hard fix.
In lessons with long content:
-
No collapsible and expandable blocks
-
Table of contents
Hoang HxnΒ We are not cloning every feature Skool has. But these are good suggestions. We will take a look and see if these features help most of our users. We don't want to make FluentCommunity complicated. Also it's better keep the comments related to this update.
There are still many unnecessary and distracting features. The features designed to help users and learners focus their attention are not yet truly effective.
Shahjahan JewelΒ It's not about making things more complicated, but I'm using Skool as an example to show you how streamlined their approach is, and how simple and focused they are on the user community π
Shahjahan JewelΒ And one more thing I don't want you guys to clone Skool about: You need to learn about streamlined, easy-to-implement, and simple deployment for the users who are members of the community. Also, you're not using the Course feature for this community, so you're missing out on many blind spots (inadequacies in practical operation) that you don't realize.
Shahjahan JewelΒ Why can't FluentCommunity simplify things like Skool, allowing users to select multiple media to display in one place? When demonstrating to clients, both video and images are needed to make conversions more persuasive.
Shahjahan JewelΒ Comments and discussions on lessons within a course can use icons similar to a lesson list and appear in a sidebar like a lesson list, allowing for separate comments and preventing excessively long scrolling times, unlike what Circle currently does.

Or, there's no need for a "see more" button when there are more than 5 comments, like Kajabi.

This is such a good step in the right direction! I posted a huge number of things I'd love to see on FC, but my big priorities are lesson hierarchies so that you can split up a single lesson into smaller units and have quizzes inside them, essays/assignments, and an instructor view! Hopefully they'll all come soon!
Shani CiproΒ ....split up a single lesson into smaller units or topics....is really a much needed feature.
These updates look great!
I wanted to ask whether the option to schedule the publication of course lessons is planned β or if it already exists? And also, is it possible to add topics to a lesson?
Thanks!
The logout function is not working anymore.
I just donβt understand why courses get so much attention when spaces donβtβ¦ strange priorities.
Anne-Sophie WΒ Courses haven't really had any attention at all up until now. They don't even have essays/assignments yet
Please no news on Fluent Player??
It's lagging i think I will switch back to use YouTube Iframe instead, currently my clients are complaining they can't play videos.
Shahjahan JewelΒ Why isn't FluentAffiliate included in FluentHub?
