best shopping cart for service based business

I have been wondering if fcart is going to work for my service based business. I charge for project or hourly service and parts and products. Could I used digital product in fcart as a workaround for service projects or hourly, or should I just use a different shopping cart that integrates well with all my other fluent ecosystem?

Interesting!
I work with customers and invoice them for various hours I spend. So this is also an interesting question for me. I am thinking that we could in some way use digital instead of physical product....

We have been selling legal services among others for years using the category β€œdigital product” and customizations for years. So, depending on your structure, I see no problem with using FluentCart for selling services.

BUT, it lacks many features that could actually make it suitable for a digital business selling services. And probably… a third category, of services, added to physical and digital would be the best fit.

I pointed some ideas here during the first beta testing in case you want to check: https://community.wpmanageninja.com/portal/space/general/post/services-in-fluent-cart

and mentioned Nelson MillerΒ approach with their add-ons for surecart.

I found them just on point to what many carts lack. And I really think he made a great job with β€œservices for surecart”.

I strongly recommend you to check it. And of course, the idea is to propose something alike to FluentCart to have it natively. At least, if it wants to cover the category of course!

UPDATE: sorry Jeff. I have just seen you are already aware, after seeing your comment there! πŸ˜…

But hey. Great opportunity to bring it to the table again in case Shahjahan JewelΒ missed it!

Jorge de los ReyesΒ To be clear, we are already developer Services For FluentCart at FluentlyWP :)

Nelson MillerΒ Great news Nelson!

I was not aware of that! πŸ‘

As I said. You guys created something really handy and straight forward with Surecart!

Good to know you are taking a similar approach with FluentCart πŸ’ͺ

Another sign that there’s a big demand for this πŸ€“

Jorge de los ReyesΒ Yes thanks, we have a toolkit coming very soon, and basically taking the same approach for FluentCart with addons, as well as other addons that are for any Fluent plugin.

No offense to other add-on developers, but I will look for an e-commerce solution that doesn't require a bunch of duct tape and baling wire to do a simple thing. That was the promise of fcart. I don't need anything fancy. Just selling hourly service and project based service packages. I hope WPMN is listening to these conversations.

JeffΒ ideal scenario, for sure!

fluent cart is supposed to be an all in one solution for e-commerce, that works seamlessly with the rest of my fluent ecosystem, and be the solution to getting of the duct tape and bailing wire approach needed with things like woo commerce, right? and I own pro versions of almost all of them - community, crm, forms, boards, and booking. probably going to get affiliate too
