Product Pages - Showing One Time vs Subscription while creating variations

So, I was testing the creation of a membership product and noticed something odd.

Iโ€™ve set up two pricing options:

  • Annual plan: XXX/year
  • Monthly plan: XX/month

Everything works perfectly regarding Direct Checkouts, but thereโ€™s one issue:

On the product page, it shows โ€œOne Timeโ€ vs โ€œSubscription,โ€ even though both options are actually subscription plans.

When you click on any of the โ€œplans,โ€ everything displays correctly (annual and monthly plans are both shown as recurring), but the initial product view doesnโ€™t reflect this properly - it labels the annual plan as โ€œOne Time.โ€

So Iโ€™m not sure if I might be missing something here or if this could be a bug.

Also, Iโ€™d like to highlight that Custom Checkout Forms would be incredibly useful and much needed.

Not only for creating custom experiences for:

  • B2C clients (where you wouldnโ€™t ask for a Tax ID), and
  • B2B clients (where more detailed billing info is required),

but also to display all available plans directly within the checkout form itself - that crucial moment when hesitant customers finally decide which plan to choose.

Also a note: recently, some checkout products introduced a โ€œBoosterโ€ feature for this type of page, where a toggle lets users switch between plans (e.g. โ€œClick here and save 20% with the annual planโ€), automatically updating the cart.

I think it would be a great addition here too! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Product Pages - Showing One Time vs Subscription while creating variations

Manuel Mรผller

Jorge de los Reyesย what i don't get: why is there a switcher between "one time" and "subscriptions" and also the "annual-box (in your picture)? in my case, i'd prefer to only have the boxes (like your annual) to switch between subscriptions (the "one time" and "subscription" text is too small anyways)

Jorge de los Reyes

Manuel Mรผllerย exactly :(

Maybe is a misconfiguration from my side.

I just tried to create different plans.

Only to find that this could only be possible (for what Iโ€™ve seen) switching from โ€œSimpleโ€ pricing to โ€œVariantsโ€.

That could be the cause. Using variants.

I simply just not found where to add more plans inside the simple pricing ๐Ÿ˜…

Have you succeeded creating different plans? And thus, not having 2 tabs on the product page?

โ€”-

Note: Iโ€™m just used to surecart, in which you add pricing plans on the simple tab. And variants is just an add on feature not usually needed for memberships.

Manuel Mรผller

Jorge de los Reyesย it seems the tabs just display the timeframe (one-time, yearly, monthly)....i didn't get that, my bad.

in my case, i always give the plans a Name, that have the duration included, so i really don't need FCart to make these tabs.

Shahjahan Jewelย ย  which use case do these tabs have? (i can't imagine one atm)

Jorge de los Reyes

Manuel Mรผllerย I think it is just how Variants works...

More typical from Physical products: color, size, storage, etc.

But for a membership, and if we are not able to create various plans under "Simple" pricing, it could be a bit confusing I guess...

Let's hear what Jewel has to say! ๐Ÿ™ˆ

I am loving this testing so much.

Can not wait to squeeze the reports section...

Manuel Mรผller

Jorge de los Reyesย when i choose "none" in the product grouping dropdown, the tabs are gone....

why did i miss that before? ๐Ÿค”

Jorge de los Reyes

Manuel Mรผller Wow - I also missed that!
Thanks a lot for sharing, Manuel.

Thereโ€™s still plenty left for me to test!

Iโ€™ll actually have about a month of a โ€œtesting impasse,โ€ but Iโ€™ll be back bothering everyone with new queries soon - right after tomorrowโ€™s official launch and a couple of Tax Module updates.

I guess we should let the team work, so Iโ€™m planning to jump back in about a month ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿฅท

Also, here in Spain weโ€™re still waiting for our long-โ€œawaitedโ€ Tax Authorityโ€“branded software and connectors (expected by the end of October).

How are you seeing things so far?
Iโ€™m honestly really excited about migrating some stores!

By the way, I even have an LTD that Iโ€™m "sure" ๐Ÿ™ƒ you could be using too, haha.

You know...
