A Warning on Using Direct Links to Products in FluentCRM right now.
I sent out a campaign to my list with a button to add the product to cart. It worked fine in my "send a test email" tests, so I sent out a batch.
Something like this:
https://MY-WEB-SITE.com/?fluent-cart=instant_checkout&item_id=12&quantity=1
(just for illustration...I obfuscated the data so don't click on these)
I got back a dozen emails from people telling me the credit card field just spins and they can't complete the purchase.
When they do they get this error: "No Active Cart"
1 or 2 people managed to complete it, but that always happens with glitches; a few people figure out how to circumvent it. Maybe by reloading the site and manually navigating to product.
Luckily my first send was just a test to 500 subscribers. I adjusted and made the link to the product page instead, leaving them to add to cart themselves, and sent out another batch.
This time, I started seeing people completing the purchase.
However...I still got a couple of people writing to me that they just got the spinning wheel, and you know that for everyone who wrote there are many more who just gave up.
I suspect it's the FluentCRM utm and click tracking parameters that are interfering with FluentCart.
The clicked link in the email turns into something like this:
https://jdasdzy4c9.r.us-east-1.awstrack.me/L0/https:%2F%2Fwww.my-web-site.com%3Fns_url=2771%26mid=282408%26fch=990f7353/2/0100019c9a1ddfc6-26942446-e5ad-4181-b0be-62aefbc6b3bf-000000/sQ0gfJerLw_mwKCjAxqQsLejGXw=424
I have a ticket in to support and they are investigating I will update with any progress here. But since this is a serious problem and can tank a promotion so I wanted to warn people to do extensive real world testing before you send out a product link in an email campaign for now.
I was about to send it to 80,000 people but I am going to hold off until this is resolved.
I gotta say, I am so happy to be moving away from Woocommerce and I do love Fluent products, but I can't believe I've been trying to send out this campaign for over two weeks now and just keep hitting walls like this.
Tech support has been amazing through all this, and some of the problems have been me not understanding the limitations, but I didn't expect I'd need to bug them this much and still not get my campaign out.
NicolaiΒ please do update once the issue reaches a certain progress toward resolution.
Definitely will do arjun arjunΒ
Thanks for sharing this. I hope the issues will be resolved soon and you can send your campaign. Crossing fingers for you!
