Yes Mat , it is very necessary, in addition to bringing it to the desired space, there are many other uses such as: Posts when reporting violations will be brought to one place, or posts that need to be archived will be put in the "Trash" space, for example.
Hoang Hxn, for reported post we also could have possibility to hide it - linking post here. Hidding post could be even better in case of any violations.
