What's the point of "account verification"?
I mean, it's not as if we could manually verify users with an ID check or something like that, so what does that even mean and what is it for? Thank you
The main point for this in a community is to differentiate admins, moderators, teams, verified partners, collaborators, and so.
I do not think this is intended for security reasons, even though it's handy for that too. ID checks, could be a compliance nightmare, btw, so it is usually delegated on partner companies with proper tools and homologations for this.
If you delegate this on this kind of partners, you could probably create a workflow with the verification endpoint so as to automate all the process.
Jorge de los ReyesΒ thank you for your reply! Makes sense now. I just wish such things were explained...
Anne-Sophie WΒ Happy to help!
And well, it could also be seen as a marketing feature.
Like "Choose Pro Community Plan and get a verified account for an extra $9.99".
Just like Meta or X did in the past.
You know: ego, status, and... sure, security haha :)
So I think it is seen more like a feature than as as compliance / anti-fraud measure.
Communication is always key, so yep. Probably an enhancement of the docs and their proper communication would be helpful.
The WPMN team YouTube channel is full of tutorials. So, they may have covered this.
