What’s One Mistake You Made When Setting Up FluentCommunity? 🤯

Let’s help the new members avoid unnecessary stress 👇

When you first set up FluentCommunity, what’s ONE mistake you made that you later had to fix?

Was it:

🔹 Creating too many spaces?
🔹 Getting permissions wrong?
🔹 Poor onboarding flow?
🔹 Plugin conflict issues?
🔹 Bad structure planning?

For me, it was: Making the community the root of my domain, I have to take it back to default, and started fixing links of over 150 posts

Drop your lesson below 👇
Your mistake might save someone hours of frustration.

Why is making the community the root a mistake? Any reason not to do that?

Bryan William

N J It was having so many issues with Thrive Themes plugins. After much struggle, I decided to let go. All the interlinks I already setup became a mess... More than 150 links to fix

teethy

Bryan William maybe problem was themes plugon not fluentcommunity plugin root.

Bryan William

teethy Sure, it was from my theme, not fluent community. Both were fighting each other

teethy

I don't have any problem with root. It was the best decision for me.

Bryan William

teethy I really love the root setup, I wish I never had issues with it

Im not sure if understand what you mean by installing it on root. In have it on my main domain not on a subdomain or anything

Learning Music Skills By root, I mean yousitename.com and not yousitename.com/portal

Cointacter

You shouldnt put portal as homepage of wp site for production because it will harm seo very much.

teethy If FluentCommunity SPA is set as the homepage, the SEO impact applies specifically to that homepage.
When the homepage becomes fully client-side rendered, the initial server response may contain very little actual content. The visible content is then injected via JavaScript after the page loads. Search engines like Google can process JavaScript, but this happens in a secondary rendering phase, which can delay indexing and sometimes reduce how clearly content is interpreted.
In this setup, potential issues include limited HTML content in the initial response, reliance on JavaScript for core page content, possible inconsistencies with dynamic meta tags (title and description), and weaker crawl clarity for internal links handled entirely through SPA routing. Performance can also be affected if the JavaScript bundle is large, which may influence Core Web Vitals.
This does not remove SEO from the rest of the website. Other WordPress pages that remain server-rendered will continue to function normally in search results. The main consideration is whether the homepage outputs complete, crawlable HTML content. If it does not, homepage SEO performance may be weaker compared to a fully server-rendered homepage.

Cointacter What if FC is the core of the site, and there are no other pages, or only a few to supplement the community (privacy policy, about page, etc)?

Bryan William

Marek then it works 100

Cointacter

Marek if SPA is set as homepage. Nothing else matters, no need to use your imagination here, just understand words "If SPA is set as homepage". And all I say is SEO impact, technically website and everything works like it should.

teethy

Cointacter I m not sure, so far I don't have any problem. I have my seo plugin with, title, description, image alt text, schema, html sitemap, fixed www not www loading and more. Maybe you are correct but if you change root for any page I am not sure you will fix feed page just move somewhere else. You will not have any seo on your feed page just fix homeoage without work.

Cointacter

teethy Your SEO plugin doesnt even see these issues. FYI some SEO details gotta be done on homepage not in SEO plugin only, and simply if portal is homepage this scenario wont have normal SEO like any other wp site does. Not talking about any other scenarios or situations I repeat
