What plugins do you pair with FC for a basic community site?
After building a site I decided to split my front end and community onto two separate WP sites domain.com and community.domain.com
My goal is to have a rock solid community build with minimal plugin sprawl. What plugins would you recommend along with FC itself as essential?
Unless you will have an extremely large community, the common approach is not to use a separate subdomain, mainly to keep things simpler. Now you have 2 sites to update and maintain. Community often needs FluentCRM and FluentCart, depending on what your community is about, so where will you install those?
What you need is dependent on what your community is about. Are you running an e-commerce site, a YouTube channel, or what? It is impossible to advise without more details about what your goal is. I don't know of any "must have" community add-on's, and that is coming from someone who offers add-on's.
FluentCommuntity is a great place to start, but your question is kind of like asking what kind of house or what kind of car do you recommend? Answer - it depends.
