What is the status of GDPR in FluentCommunity as of september 2026?

Questions for users and the team behind FluentCommunity:

  1. Are people in the EU using this software and how do they comply ?
  2. Data Erasure requests. How are you handling them ?
  3. How about new Age Restrictions and so on ? How are you handling these ?
  4. Profile deletion. What is kept, what is anonymized?

FluentCart quickly got the legal issues adressed it seems, no ? How about FluentCommunity ?

Thank you.

For me is big problem that Complianz cookie banner still does not work inside Fluent Community. On WP pages it is OK but inside /portal/ not.

Jacob

Drive ZoneΒ but what about the rest of the issues ? Are you european based ?

Julian Brinke

Drive ZoneΒ give a try to cookie rocket :)

AndrΓ© Daus

Drive ZoneΒ that works. I showed it here some time ago. You need some manual steps, though.

Drive Zone

AndrΓ© DausΒ can you tell me more?

AndrΓ© Daus

Drive ZoneΒ I posted a demo here in the community, but it seems the original post has been deleted (and all comments with it). Anyway, I will see if I still have a copy of it. Basically, you cannot add it like in regular Wordpress. You need to add it to FluentCommunity in particular which involves some manual tasks. But they were one offs, as much as I can remember.

I never had this situation of a complaint or complete deletion. What exactly are your concerns?

Jacob

AndrΓ© DausΒ are you asking because you dont know that you have to comply to GDPR in EU ? Or what ? My concerns are listed in the question. How do I comply with GDPR if a user wants to delete their profile ? How do I go about deleting that profile ? What if a user wants all the info that Fluencommunity has stored on them ? How do I go about anonymizing and keeping the posts for the integrity of the content, if nothing is special about the data they want to have deleted.

You never heard about these issues or what ?

AndrΓ© Daus

To be more concrete: as controller, you need three things: a way to export everything tied to an account, a way to erase or anonymize a profile while keeping the content, and a check of where personal data hides beyond the profile itself (free-text posts, uploads, notification logs, connected email or newsletter tools). Which of these the plugin covers out of the box is a question for the team. How to set it up depends on the specific site, so it is project work, but it is solvable.

JacobΒ I would imagine if it’s not built in you can add some snippets or change some things to WP. I’m sure your VPS or wherever you host handle the β€œwhere the data is part”.
