Voice Notes/Messages?

Just want to make sure I'm not overlooking a native feature or add-on created to allow users to voice messages in chat?

I know BetterMessages can do it but wondering if anybody has an alternative or if this is on the roadmap?

Would be awesome.

There was a thread discussing the possibility of having FluentPlayer handle this within Fluent Messages, especially after the audio updates were released.

I’m not sure whether the team is currently considering it, though!

I also submitted it as a feature request back then.

I built a test plugin a while ago with claude code but it's not something I would give out to other people... it worked - it didn't use fluentplayer though - so it is possible.

Scott HopkinsΒ it worked as in you no longer use it? Also, if you're up to sharing your code/repo would be greatly appreciated.

Curious what keeps you away from BM. Works great for me.

Kaneisha G.Β I'm currently using BM and was just curious if there were other solutions that worked with the native system. So you use the WebSocket version?

Kaneisha G.

Chris DavisΒ I do not. Just the free version + paid voice messages add-on. I’ve never had one complaint. My highest spender in my $97/mo community spent over $5k on subscription fees and add-on services (lifetime value before churning out after he got into school). Not one complaint about Fluent Community or Better Messages from him or my typical members who spend ~$500 total lifetime.

I use it too β€” to respond to their inbound 1:1 messages. No problems so far. It actually feels miraculous to me that it works so well for the price. πŸ˜…

Kaneisha G.Β I see and very helpful. I haven't run into any issues on the free version yet and I'll probably just purchase the voice notes add-on. Thanks!
