Video Protection in FluentCommunity — What Are You Using?

Hi everyone,

I’d like to get some insight from those of you running communities with video content.

What solutions are you using (if any) to protect your videos?

Specifically, I’m interested in:

  • DRM or any kind of video protection
  • Screen recording / screen capture protection
  • Dynamic watermarks (e.g., user email, name, etc.)
  • Any third-party services or setups that actually work well with FluentCommunity

Are you implementing any of these, or are you not focusing on protection at all?

Would really appreciate hearing what’s working (and what’s not) in real use cases.

Upload videos on Bunny.net use FluentPlayer to display on WP, that is the only recommended DRM protection, but nothing is 100% guarantee, even Netflix with millions of dollars still gets their video content ripped. I wont advise you go too deep into this other than just bunny

I’m currently migrating from Telegram to FluentCommunity. In Telegram, you can upload unlimited videos in any quality, and it already includes basic protection for free — no downloads, no forwarding, and even screen recording restrictions.

Now, looking at Bunny + DRM (especially Enterprise), it becomes quite an expensive model — essentially you pay per video view, and with my volume of content and audience size, the cost adds up significantly.

I understand that 100% protection doesn’t exist. But today, screen recording can be enabled in one click on any phone, so the question is more about basic protection from regular users rather than advanced ones.

Previously, most of my audience was from CIS countries, where users are more likely to download or screen-record content. Now I’m shifting toward a US and European audience, so I’m trying to understand how relevant this concern actually is here.

Does it make sense to pay extra for Enterprise DRM, or do most people stick with simpler solutions?

Curious how others are handling this.
