Upcoming Plus for FCom v1.3.0

I will be pushing out a pretty big update hopefully this Saturday. This update will provide some significant additions to the analytics and will allow for user data management as well.

I have also improved the Topic styling. It now allows for stacking the topics and a second style I've labeled as Minimal. Between these two you will have four options for how the topics now display on spaces; Default (scroll), Default (stacked), Minimal (scroll), and Minimal (stacked). Minimal also removes some styling on the post topic tags as well.

I also have a freebie I'm adding to the free enhancements, Online Now. It has a simple box that shows at the top right sidebar where trending posts and other things show. However there's more to it, as it also show recently active on the list. I also have one wildcard settings I added to this feature that I'll announce when I release this update. I have a few things to tweak (number online for guests, but unable to view a list of who, improving data refreshing) and some minor clean up to do.

I currently have these updates running on my community, so you can get an early look at what to expect. If you want to download and use the free features, you have to join my community to download it.

Hi Jeff, will your tool provide analytics for courses?

Jeff Brigman

Abby WΒ this upcoming release, no. However I will review the available data and start working towards incorporating it.

Is there anything specific in that area you need/want?

Abby W

Jeff BrigmanΒ Thanks for letting me know! It would be helpful to know which lessons and courses have been accessed by users (currently, if they don’t click on β€œcomplete”, we would have no idea.)

Once that data is available, it would be great to see analytics regarding the most viewed courses/lessons and most common drop-off points (perhaps a lesson that’s too confusing or difficult?)

In short, gaining insight into user-based as well as course-based data will be invaluable to educators πŸ™

how did now make collapse sidebar menu by default on your site, is it a custom snippet, I will love that

Jeff Brigman

Justice AkoredeΒ it’s a feature in the plugin. There’s actually two versions, full collapse and collapse to icons with an additional setting for persistent menu state (remembers if user had/has it collapsed or expanded and keeps it).
