Unofficial Mobile App - need your help
Ladies and gentleman,
After weeks of digging I made fully working backend for fluentcommunity mobile app (unofficial with push notifications and more features than you can ask for). Now I'm thinking how it should look... throw me some UI ideas - how would you like it to look... all idea supporters will get access to this app first. Fill my head with screenshots, comments...
Very cool. How does this relate to the official mobile app by lazycoders who partnered with fluent community? I’ve been testing that one for a couple weeks now.
Donald McGuinn no relations at all. I didn't partnered... my team and I developed all from scratches...
Donald McGuinn one more thing - push notifications working real time...
Donald McGuinn is Laztcoders the official app? FC not willing to confirm that to me when i asked them and told to wait for an announcement. Any news on launch from your testing with them?
Mike Foster they were the ones that WPMN worked with to get something going. Haven't seen a launch date but in testing, it worked very nicely.
Amazing effort! my vote is for a clean, fast, and content-focused design. Count me in for the early access program.
Andre Gois clean & fast - are we talking about UI or code :P ?
Nice! Interesting in testing and helping with it. Regarding the UI, I think it would be helpful to make it as close to the mobile web version for Fluent Community to give consistent experience across devices.
It seems the officially supported version that is being developed is going to be built as one parent app which can then access the community by scanning qr code. If your app allows whitelabelling, I think that will make a big differentiater.
N good point regarding ui... so far I'm supper happy to have all working https://cln.sh/Zlsf0jSV+
go ahead sneak peek
Tom Robak great work. Thats what i was saying clean and looks fast too 😁
Tom Robak the menu Will have all the spaces? No group spaces?
Andre Gois I'm working on ui... that's why I've started this thread ;)
Tom Robak well i think having the group name also on the menu its important. At least if a person joined a space from a group space
Tom Robak Nice! It seems to be faster than the App from Lazycoders. How can we install this for our own community?
Tom Robak this looks really good. How do the lessons look? I only see feed/spaces.
N +1 for the white labeling. My clients are not so tech savvy and it seems strange to have someone go to another company to install someone else's app. I'd be hesitant if I didn't know the people personally.
Tom Robak This sneak peek already looks amazing! What I love most so far is the left-side menu — it’s implemented exactly how it should be: intuitive and clean.
I’m curious about the messaging system — will it also be implemented directly inside the app?
I’d also like to suggest adding the ability to render certain elements as webviews. It would be great if there were an option to edit the code and add custom functions such as embedding iframes or using shortcodes.
You’ve mentioned that you’d like to make the project open source, which is really exciting — it would allow others to contribute and extend its functionality. I don’t have experience coding apps yet, but it’s something I plan to learn once I finish my platform. I’d be more than happy to contribute in the future and give back for what you’re building. :)
Wendy Shoef whitelabel is possible but it will be as custom development... more details soon... I will post some update a bit later today
Like a telegram =)
It would be great to have a bot that posts from FluentCommunity to Telegram.
Artur Abakarov that's actually super easy - I was playing with telegram recently a lot... bots can do many things...
Artur Abakarov I use Fluent Forms to connect to Telegram currently. I just recently got FlowMattic and it's really great. It has a Telegram integration that I will be testing out soon.

Wendy Shoef, thank you for the advice!
Hi Tom, these are the 3 best looking mobile app I found (based on a FC site);
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/hobby-horse-academy/id6737988153
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/he/id6748068718
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/giorgio-luciani-meditazione/id6739503207
They can give good UI ideas. They also exist on the Android store and I think they have been built using these PWA:
https://wpmobile.app/
https://www.webtonative.com/
https://www.appmysite.com/
BTW, how are you building your app? Obviously I am interested to test it when it will be available! :)
So how would your app for FC work if ones site is part FC and part blog with a article directory and would like it all in the same app?
Morgan McArthur it's dedicated app for FC not blog... to have with blog + rest of the website you will look for custom development... my app will work like slack app - you can add (as user) many communities... if one day fluent community become top player then it will be success.
Tom Robak thanks for the clarification, and if one is using the FC theme for FC site how does the app work with the theme?
Any reason why the look and feel is different to FC site and other FC mobile Apps? looks cool by the way, just curious on the look and feel if it was on purpose?
I take it your AI features you plan to release will be integrated into the app too? I did have a couple questions for you on these features, be great to get your response on them . I also sent you a DM 😉
Morgan McArthur I think I will look for something modern and more mobile dedicated. Of course inspired slightly by FC... but more focused on mobile solutions/screens/tabs etc
Tom Robak makes sense the way you would like to approach it (mobile solutions/screens/tabs etc) 👍
Looks very nice. You are on the right track.
Tom Robak great job!
I studied whop in the last couple of days
I think they have a clean ui and everything running smoothly and fast this is very important for the overall experience.
You can take ideas from there.
One thing I really like in whop that you can see in side bar who is online and have a quick chat with him.
BTW I think one of the most important thing is the push notification.
Dror Vanger is it whop a community?
Andre Gois
Whop is a platform for selling digital products, memberships, and online communities
It’s often used by creators and small businesses to sell courses, Discord access, files, etc.
Dror Vanger ok thanks
Vibe Code Tom - Think about a chat icon on the bottom bar or another simple and clear way to make it accessible for the user. Additionally, consider integrating it with Better Message ;-)
Michal Paczula no need for better message - websocket chat will be available ;) but not in first release - for this I will need to place some infrastructure US, EU, UK etc - trying to not invest too much as it's still niche...
Still coding. Every day. Coffee, code, repeat. The app’s coming together - it’s going to be worth the wait. If you’re curious (or just impatient), go to fchub.co, add your community, and jump on the waitlist.
Soon I’ll send access to a private Telegram group, where we’ll talk, test, and probably break a few things together.

Vibe Code Will fluentcart work inside the app?
Andre Gois not at this stage - waiting for wpmanageninjas to implement all properly... when they sort all out we will definitely integrate this :P it's a must have for paid communities right?
Vibe Code i AM sure it is. Even later down the road to sell products inside de community
Andre Gois yes! first wpmanageninja deliver... then you will get all in this app. moving step forward - I've also started PoS plugin for FluentCart - it's looking soo good.
Vibe Code that's good to know. When can we test the app?
Andre Gois on testflight it should be available in 3-4 days. first tests during livestream which I plan to do tomorrow on twitch - anyway I share all on telegram group (link in comments above)
Vibe Code i AM already following you there. You are doing an amazing job with the app. Untill now looks very promissing and much better than the "oficial app"...soooo fast 🙂
Late to the party on this thread. Excited about your app! Just entered email at your site for updates. My school community is behind a paywall so couldn't really add it. Looking forward to seeing more!
is this live?
