Understanding how HTML video embed works in Courses

I am migrating my course content from Learndash into FC.

I use Searchie.io/Membership.io's video hosting because of the robust functions it has for searching inside of the video.

Why do we put the code in the sidebar on the left rather than just using an html embed in the main body of the lesson?

Does it function differently? Show up differently somewhere on the site?

Show up as a featured video in a course listing somewhere?

Just wondering!

It's kind of the same. When you use the sidebar, it just shows as features at the top.

Got it! Thanks!

For context, the course editor was updated recently to be more feature-rich. The previous one had very limited blocks and could not handle HTML in the way you've shown there, so the Featured Media area was the only place to embed video and html. Seems redundant now you can do it in the main course area, but it does still pin that part to the top of the page and loads it in a slightly different area.
