Translation
Shahjahan Jewel I want to start translating to Dutch, but I can not start this on https://translate.wordpress.org/locale/nl-be/default/wp-plugins/fluent-community/
it says the plugin is not properly prepared 🤷♀️
I don't know if it's a different translation which you want to do to the main proyect of the plugin, but here I made a quick tutorial with AI for your individual site: https://community.wpmanageninja.com/portal/space/community-meta/post/complete-guide-how-to-translate-the-fluent-community-plugin-using-ai
Fastest and easiest way to translate (imho)
- Loco translate Plugin
- DeepL API (free)
- Automatic Translation
- Correct the weird Words DeepL came up with
Christian Anderl I do not want to create a local translation, but contribute to the Polyglots
Natascha Vantuykom Exactly. Working with .mo/.po files is the most efficient method and the industry standard.
Natascha Vantuykom i don´t know the ususal workflow for this but i´m pretty sure you can use the .po files from loco translate and upload them there. Never seen any translation service not working with these. As Rick Heijster mentioned - its industry standard
Christian Anderl No, I agree with Natascha Vantuykom . Working with PO/MO files is industry standard and built in into WordPress. It should not be needed to use an external tool, like Loco Translate, to translate a theme or plugin.
Fluent Community should provide a PO-file, which gives all the strings that need to be translated. The result is a MO-file, which could be uploaded to /wp-content/languages. Fluent Community should be able to pick up on that file, and use the translated strings.
Christian Anderl This way you can easily distribute translations over multiple websites, without relying on a third-party tool, like Loco Translate.
Rick Heijster I think that will happen like in other tools as FluentCRM, but probably they gave priority to other tasks right now
Rick Heijster ah ok, you just want to do it without loco translate. Yes, would be great. Even if I don’t mind if I use loco for this, to me the result is the same. Guess this will be possible in the future
Im almost done translating it into Dutch so if you can wait, I can share it with you... I'm on like, 97%

Here you can find the Dutch translation to download :)
Gee Adriaansz thanks, but that is not what I am trying to do. Wordpress has an official volunteer project named polyglots for translations. I am currently contributing to the Dutch translations of the Fluent plugins, but the one for community is not proper set up yet so I can not start.
Maybe they could upload your file to the project 🙂
Natascha Vantuykom nice, will look if I can volunteer as well and would save others lots of work if my file can be used
Gee Adriaansz cool 😀
