Total Cost Including 3rd Party Services

Hi Everyone. Before I purchase a higher tier plan, I want to make sure I fully understand the cost associated with this plugin.

My understanding is that, if I want to have membership tiers, especially forms to sign up, gamification, courses, and live videos, I would need the following services in addition to the plugin:

  • FluentForms: $47/year
  • Studio Cart: $199/year
  • Restrict Content Pro: $99/year
  • Vimeo (for restricted videos): $12/month
  • And in the future, we will be hopefully able to pay extra to access from an app.
  • All the above in addition to the plugin itself, of course.

Is that correct? Am I missing something? I just want to have a clear idea to compare the pros and cons with other services. Thank you!

Just one tip: get rid of Vimeo and go for something like Bunny.net. It will only cost you the usage of the service and it's really affordable. Vimeo will ask you to go for a Pro plan if you intend to sell content, so it will force you to pay far more or they may also take down your whole account without a warning (happened to one of my clients).

Here’s my recommendation as someone who has just started a new community less than 1 month ago. Don’t get everything from the get-go, because you may feel overwhelmed. Slowly add what you need, when you have a better game plan on how it will be used.

I have Kadence (you probably want a Wordpress page builder), FluentCommunity, FluentForms and FleuntCRM. I am using the free version of Restrict Content Pro for now as it’s good enough as a start.

If you don’t need a full sales funnel experience from Day 1, you could make do with FluentForms to handle basic sales and payment (I use Stripe) and decide if you want a cart solution later on.

Christopher MatchΒ what are you using for the LMS? FluentCommuity's own LMS?

Morgan McArthurΒ Yup, using FluentCommunity’s LMS for now as I don’t have any courses that have unique requirements yet.

Christopher MatchΒ ok thanks!

You can use the free version of Restrict Content Pro to start. It can manage payments and membership. Personally, I use StudioCart for my sales pages (I have a LTD) and RCP for the membership (the free version). For the moment, I don't use FluentForms because my payments are managed by StudioCart. I have FluentCRM (the Pro version) as well to manager my emailing and the automations between StudioCart, RCP and FluentCommunity.
