The Best and Cost-Effective Email Option?
I'm setting up email for my community. And I'm a bit confused as to which route I should go β from xCloud or FluentSMTP. I'm not a tech expert in this matter, so I asked ChatGPT and it said:
Final recommendation:
- Start with Amazon SES via FluentSMTP β cost-effective, integrated, and excellent once SPF/DKIM/DMARC and bounce handling are set up. This will cover transactional and marketing for a small/medium community. FluentSMTP+1
- If transactional issues appear (password resets going to spam) switch transactional flows to Postmark and keep SES for campaigns β Postmark is simpler for transactional and often gets better inbox placement.
But I'd appreciate your recommendations based on real-life experiences. TIA! <3
I use fluentsmtp and Amazon ses which is cost effective and very reliable.

If you use xCloud it installs FluentSMTP and you can connect it to your provider of choice (including xCloudβs own service). I used AWS SES and switched to Zeptomail recently.
AndrΓ© DausΒ Thank you so much for sharing this, AndrΓ©! Would you mind briefly sharing your reason for the switch?
The GSΒ itβs mainly convenience. With Zeptomail I can create βagentsβ and get a report for each agent. With AWS it is much more complicated to get the same reports. Also adding Zeptomail to Fluent is way simpler.
AndrΓ© DausΒ Got it! Once again, thanks a ton for sharing these valuable insights, buddy! Much appreciated! <3
