technical questions about migrating

Hi, I'm considering migrating my main website LMS (buddy boss + learndash + wp fusion ) to fluent community. I bought the 10 websites license but I have some technical questions.

  1. Before moving on FC I need to migrate all the courses and spaces manually from learndash + buddy boss to FC. in the mean while, can I install the fc plugin? is there any incompatibility reported with the all the plugins? does FC use common DB tables with Wordpress or they are standalone?
  2. When I'm ready to, I saw that the login page has a different url from my actual website (that is the main url, because I setup a buddy boss private social). Is there any way to have the main url as login page in FC?
  3. Actually I can setup the main page of the website in the settings - read setting of the admin backend (in Wordpress). what about FC? Is there any way to have a standard home page? just like the whole courses instead of the feed page?
  4. As for login, we have both the normal Wordpress login page and the portal one, right? is there any way to use the fluent login to overwrite the standard Wordpress login page?
  5. lastly I noticed that if I enable 2fa on word fence, than try to login I receive a red warning about waiting for 2fa message, but word fence doesn't send message, it redirects to a 2fa field to complete.

If you ever figure theses out do let us know :) I'm in the same space I have finished manually migrating everything (except quizzes) from Masteriyo LMS but not sure how to get my urls, and login and the rests of it working seamlessly

Same here, I want to know too, thanks!!

Shahjahan did mention there will be a BuddyBoss import function within this month available.

Jonathan NΓ€geleΒ if confirmed, that's really, really...really cool

Can't answer them all, but I just moved from BuddyBoss/LearnDash:

1) FC uses separate DB tables if I remember correctly.

2) You can put the FC login URL anywhere you want.

3) Can't change the home page yet, but this is version 1.0 so sure more is in the works.

4) I haven't tried to overwrite the standard login page. Do know that FC has an IP based limiter for logins. If you run into that testing multiple users from the same IP just jump to the normal WP login and you'll get in.

5) Don't use WordFence anymore so can't speak to this.

kyler boudreauΒ About 3) Can't change the home page yet, but this is version 1.0 so sure more is in the works. <- Would a URL redirect plugin work?? πŸ€”

I'm also trying to configure the home page to ditch the /portal slug.

Christian FrankΒ you can change 'portal' to another word, but that's still buggy in my experience. I'm sure you could do a redirect. But honestly, after using Circle, MightyNetworks and BuddyBoss, this is so much better than all of them, the portal has become irrelelvant.

kyler boudreauΒ what do u mean for "portal has become irrelevant?"

kyler boudreau

Tindaro BattagliaΒ meaning having "portal" in the url

Christian Frank

kyler boudreauΒ I absolutely agree that the 'portal' is a minor inconvenience, and after spending tons of time and moneyz on BuddyBoss, this is light years ahead. I have used a handy-dandy URL redirect plugin before, but it gets laggy on the Permalinks, and FComm is soooo fast and crips I fear mugging it up with a server side redirect.

kyler boudreau

Christian FrankΒ you could probably help with Redis object caching?

Christian Frank

kyler boudreauΒ I'll give it a whack. Thanks!
