Stream from community

Just seen this from GHL: https://help.gohighlevel.com/support/solutions/articles/155000006673-communities-use-go-live-to-host-meetings-broadcasts

could be cool if we can also make some OBS, Streamyard, Zoom , meet or alike connections inside community.

I remember BuddyBoss having an integration with Zoom that was really cool and keeps track of past lives and recordings.

Live streaming isn't something I'm personally familiar with - how is it different to embedding a regular video?

Ross FCAΒ every platform has nuances.

Some are better for webinars, lives, evergreen funnels, and so.

For most of the creators out there managing communities, I think keeping everything under the same roof (at least on appearance), including registers of attendance, interactions, chat, etc. is one of the key points.

Also, an easy setup: click and go live.

  • having all the recordings - to your choice - on a one click availability.

It’s so much fun.

And you know, when you keep things easy to yourself (click and go), it’s something more easy to schedule πŸ˜„

Just some thoughts!

wow, that looks just like fcom, except on steroids!

Amazing

That would be awesome, I know you can already embed a YouTube livestream.

I tried playing with GHL, it was slow and for most people there is so much it does it would be overwhelming. But their pricing model does mean lots of people are pushing it.

Jonathan GwyerΒ yeah!

Their white label program is quite popular πŸ˜„

This kind of all in one platforms are getting lots of traction.

I’ve recently meet similar companies teams selling this and they are growing super fast.

This last one gives you all the stack you may need (pretty solid!) for just 100 to 200 / year.

But, yep: you’ll be locked in there πŸ˜„

A matter of choices and mindset I guess!

β€”β€”β€”

Any special thoughts for embedding YouTube?

Or you just post on a page under the fluent theme / or a community post like Jewel usually does ? πŸ˜„

Jonathan Gwyer

Jorge de los ReyesΒ I haven't dug too deeply - the post in community is so simple but the trouble with YouTube is restricting access.

(I can see people making money quickly with GHL but then finding out their support costs are going to be high!)

Jonathan GwyerΒ absolutely!

I’m on the side of thinking β€œNot your keys, not your business” πŸ˜…

But they are doing a great job with their partners.

On my experience, even huge online players are happy to share even a 10% of their project revenue just for visibility, some relevance, some perks and discounts and so. And of course for simplicity.(not talking directly of GHL, but of similar models :) ).

πŸ™ˆ

I haven’t toyed around with GHL too deeply, but I’ve seen clients committing atrocities on privacy and compliance with it, and selling the whitelabel on a very chaotic way πŸ˜….

I’ve also seen people investing heavily on ads just for selling GHL systems so, yep: it’s a nice case study!

About YouTube, if you are mass oriented with your community… yep, access control could be a huge burden!

I guess that if you do not have concurrent login control, it will be also a problem even its native πŸ€ͺ

Jonathan Gwyer

There aren't many streaming services that allow an embedded player at a reasonable price, but https://onestream.live/ looks interesting. Anyone using it?

Definitely something iβ€˜m waiting for

Yes, please πŸ™πŸ»

I did some research on this some time ago about Zoom SDK in wordpress. But it is not best scenario because there are some limitations. The problem is when there are a lot of people in the stream and also mobile version is more diffecult. A lot of people can not put on there camera this costs to much bandwith etc. If there is just 1 person talking without interaction it is must easier. For me personly I decided to go the route with direct zoom links that open direct the zoom web version or app. Because other options are not stable enough. Especially when you need interaction with a lot of people.
