Stagging Site Update

Hi everyone, please how do you get stagging site update not delete contents from production site? I have a stagging site setup with softaculous in cpanel but every time I push my updates, all recent conversation/post in my fluentcommunity gets deleted. Is there anything I am doing wrong? How do you manage this situation?
