Spaces settings, monetization..
I see there is settings options per individual Space to "Create a Discussion Space", but cant find much on how to allow community members to create their own Space(s)? And to become the Space Admin, not just a member. And is their an option to monetize the creation of a Space?
I understand you can monetize established Spaces by charging a fee for users to join. But how can site admins collect a fee for them to create Spaces? And would it be possible to sell a bundle of Spaces?
There isn't a built-in way for users to create spaces. However, you could do it using custom code or one of the integration tools (FlowMattic, Ottokit) that supports FluentCommunity.
Thomas OatesΒ Thanks for the fast response.. great suggestions.. but shouldn't this option be builtin?
Let me ask you is this not a common idea? Do community site owners get asked this type of request from members?
I think of a situation for example a local neighborhood community site and a condominium association wants to create their own private Space and invite 50 condo owners, residents and board members to discuss property affairs (announcements, repairs, management, complaints, etc).
So how would they create a private Space?
Ill look into your idea.. how about a sub-menu under Spaces tab that redirects to a simple order form on a landing page with layout in FC frame. As the orders come in then the site admin can manually create a Space, assign new Admin (purchaser) and send him email with invite/invoice. Done.
Thoughts?
Insta NetΒ Yep, doing it manually with a simple order form would work. I guess it depends on how many orders come through. In my situation, we don't have a need for anyone other than admins to create spaces so this isn't something I've really looked into that much.
Thomas OatesΒ ok thanks π
I see what you are saying but I cant see anyone that would want to pay for a space when they can post for free all over the internet, however, if you have a niche member/vendor site, then maybe give them a free space ie user generated content as some type of member incentive.
David ScurlockΒ thanks for opinion π
David ScurlockΒ maybe the site is around selling, and has a multi vendor model, where the critical mass of the site warrants chargeing a fee to a vendor to create a group. In lieu of affiliate marketing perhaps ? Never say never
Waters JohnΒ sure thing. Monetize the heck out of fluentCommunity. +1 for that...
