SpaceEvents RC-1 — Events for your FlunetCommunity

Hi everyone, I have spent the last week running lots and lots of tests with SpaceEvents and feel confident everything is working, so I have decided to skip beta-3 and go straight to Release Candidate 1 🎉

I'm just updating the documentation, but the latest version is available today — the first year discount is also still available.

Whats new!

  • Recurring Events: Events can now repeat on a schedule, choose from daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly patterns — or pick specific dates manually for irregular schedules. You can also exclude specific dates if required.
  • Auto-Save & Unsaved Changes Protection: Both the Create and Edit event forms now have an auto-save and will warn you before closing if you have unsaved changes.
  • Attendee Check-in & Waitlist Management: Space Managers and Event Organisers can now check-in attendees and manage the waitlist directly from the community portal. Also improved CSV and PDF export.
  • FluentCRM Automation Triggers: Five new automation triggers are available in FluentCRM, letting you build workflows around your events.
  • Cover Images & Event Attachments use FC Media Storage: If you use cloud storage (S3, DigitalOcean) the cover image and attachments are saved there.
  • Language, RTL & Translation Support: SpaceEvents is fully translation-ready. All user-facing text uses WordPress translation functions, and also supports RTL (right-to-left) layout.
  • Improved Category Filtering: Category filter on the Events tab has been redesigned making it easier to browse events by category across all event listing pages.
  • Extra Event Reminders for Virtual & Hybrid Events: Virtual and hybrid events now have an optional 1-hour reminder email.
  • Address Autocomplete: The location search now supports Photon and Nominatim (free) or connect Google Places or Mapbox by adding an API key in SpaceEvents settings (may incur costs depending on usage).
  • Better Mobile Experience: Event pages now adapt better on mobile devices.
  • WordPress Admin Improvements: The WordPress admin settings and event editor have been updated.
  • Security & Compatibility: Maps and Geocoding load from local rather than an external CDN. Useful if you use CSP on your hosting.
  • Lots of bug fixes and minor tweaks.

This is absolutely fabulous - well done! We currently use The Events Calendar for our events, and Registrations for The Events Calendar (aka RTEC from Roundupwp.com). You are well on the way towards creating something that would allow us to switch! The waitlist is a must-have for us, and the reason we use RTEC. Ironically, The Events Calendar was originally made by a company called Tribe!

Hi Coffs Trails I also use The Event Calendar on a couple of WP sites, but prefer Events Manager (by Pixelite), lots of customisation options and it worked well with BuddyPress, but I could never really get it to work right with FC, especially within Spaces. The waitlists in SpaceEvents work, but I really need to have a think about how best to display the information better - any thoughts or suggestions much appreciated

David Churchill We've been using The Events Calendar for years, and it will take time and pain to move on, but I'll readily abandon The Events Calendar for something more elegant, and flexible, that meets our key needs. Especially if it integrates well with the Fluent stack.
