Social Login
I can't find social login options. Is that not built in yet? I realize this can be done with extra plugins but I figured this would be included or am I just missing it?
I've stopped doing social logins. At least with Facebook. I don't need to add their Pixel or SDK or javascript or anything to my site. I know social logins make it easier to get users with less friction, but I want users taking the time to enter in their information. Hoping that will get more engagement than somebody just tapping the social button and browsing and not being invested to contribute. Just something to think about.
Gregory StormΒ The problem is that there are so many sites and options now that if you have to join to view any content and "browsing" most people see the join page and leave and never come back. At least that's what I do. Nobody wants to join and maintain a ton of login info. If you have a quick one button join, at least you get a buyer in the door instead of just leaving.
Bucky LarsonΒ I want my communities to use real names and not have users hide behind usernames. Facebook and LinkedIn are the only two that would provide real names. It comes down to I'm not a fan of Facebook and a lot of my potential users have been complaining about Facebook on Reddit so having a simple email and Password option will be my main goal. I might add Google Login because my theme has a very nice login screen which has Google Login as an option built in.
Which logins were you thinking about using for your site?
Probably just Google, FB and Apple.
I've thought a bit more about your comment and I'm leaning a little bit more towards using social login. It would only use Google and Apple if I did go that direction but only if those methods supplied email, first, and last name.
