SEO url slug

It’s my understanding that the url slug is generated from the posts title with limited characters?

To me it seems there’s too much text before the title slug is added, based on my community ‘talk’

as.com/talk/space/travel/post/majestic-hall-inside-palazzo-d

Should ‘space’ and ‘post’ be dropped in favour of a longer post title slug?
