All work should be paid for, and I think this is absolutely justified in Ross's case. To be honest, I am a proponent of minimalism when it comes to plugins, and I will not become his client, but I will at least say that the existence of such developers in the community is a testament to the quality of WP Ninja products, as they can inspire the community.

Ross is doing an amazing job and generously sharing it with the community. The last example layout for the course section is just incredible.
Unfortunately, because I’m worried that a future F.Community update might break my site if it’s customized beyond custom CSS, I avoid adding plugins to it. I even considered creating one myself to integrate an AI, but I gave up on the idea. It’s a shame, since customization is supposed to be one of WordPress’s main strengths.

D@vid Thank you! FC has a really solid and robust styling and hooks system which 9 times out of 10 I will utilise for my add-ons. It's the same styles and hooks they use themselves so it would be odd for anything to break. I'm holding off on things like Custom Profile Fields for now as there's no native hooks for that and there is potential for future incompatibility.
