Reply link and threading — move it to the right, indent

My students are not seeing the "Reply" link on discussions, so they are not replying in-line. The Reply link is on the left, but other socials have trained people to look the right, and the eye moves to the right of the reaction icon. Likewise, other socials offer a "reply to" field that is indented and separate from the regular comment field. So my discussion threads are not threaded.
