π Quick Access: a new free extension for FluentCommunity
Hi everyone π
I just released Quick Access, a new free extension for FluentCommunity.
On computers, you pick the icons in the shortcut bar next to the profile. On phones, you pick the top shortcuts and the whole bottom action bar. Everything is set on one screen, with a live preview. Nothing changes for your members until you publish.
Itβs free, forever. FluentCommunity has given me a lot, and this is my way of giving back to the Wordpress & Fluent community β€οΈ
π Get it for free
Iβd love to hear what you think! π
Iβve tried using it, and it works really well. However, I hope some additional features will be added in the future, such as displaying the chat option at the top.
I have started using your plugin...the free extensions are so crazyyyy...thanks man! I will Join the founding soon...
However I love your extension's, any plan to fix old bugs?
teethyΒ Which bug are you talking about? The free extension has just been released π
Dragan STAMENKOVICΒ Hi Dragan, an honest feedback on the Admin Experience part of your FC Extension plugin.
First of all much appreciation for your great offerings to the community through your multiple extensions/addons that have truly enhanced the capabilities of the FC plugin itself. Having said this, I want to draw your attention to the fact that there is a very long list of plugins in the bsckend in the wp plugin tab as we go on toggling on your addons. So the wp plugin backend looks very cluttered and confusing and distracting.
I request you to only let the main "FC Extensions" plugin appear in the wp backend plugin list and then have its addons remain active simply in a modular form without cluttering the wp plugin backend.
Currently, when we turn on many of your addons, then our pre-existing core plugins seem to get lost in the maze (we have a hard time finding other pre existing plugins within the list).
You can do something similar to "uncanny toolkit for learndash" that activates the addons in a modular fashion without cluttering the wpadmin's plugin part.
Once again thank you for what you have created.
P.S. Your "events" addon is wonderful. However, it would be suitable to all sites if there was a menu/term like "Events" instead of the current label "Calendar". Or it would be even better if the admin could name or label it to the term of their choice.
arjun arjunΒ Hi, thank you so much for this feedback, and for the kind words.
Youβre right about the Plugins page. Iβve added it to the roadmap: the add-ons will no longer appear there one by one. In the list, youβll see FC Extensions only. To see its add-ons, just click βFC Extensionsβ at the top of the page, next to βAllβ and βActiveβ. Youβll keep turning them on and off from the FC Extensions page, as you do today. And if you deactivate FC Extensions, all its add-ons are deactivated at once. Your other plugins will be easy to find again.
Glad you like Events! Iβve added your idea to the roadmap too: youβll be able to name the menu item yourself (Events, Agenda, Meetups, whatever fits your community). It will show βEventsβ by default. And this will work for every add-on that has a page in the community.
Thanks again. Feedback like yours makes the extensions better for everyone.
Dragan
Dragan STAMENKOVICΒ Many thanks to you for already implementing the requested features/customizations so soon. Highly appreciate what you have been doing.
arjun arjunΒ Itβs thanks to feedback like yours that FC Extensions keeps improving day by day. So thank you! Enjoy βοΈ
Looks pretty cool! I'm curious....what tool(s) do you use to create that video?
Thomas OatesΒ For the most part, everything is done using Claude. There are several stages involved. The first is ensuring an understanding of the project something Claude has been building up over the course of several months. It was necessary to teach the AI ββexactly what the project entails; it has become increasingly proficient over time.
Next comes writing the script for the video (a personal skill).
Then, thereβs the process of providing the right instructions to Claude to align with the desired outcome (defining the type of video, the tone, the visual style, etc.).
Following that, the voice is generated (using Google AI Studio or Eleven Labs).
Then, the animations are created (via Hyperframe).
Next, everything is compiled using Claude.
Finally, manual touch-ups are applied. The initial output is never perfect; it usually takes between 3 and 6 iterations to get it right (partly because Iβm quite particular!).
So, itβs a combination of various elements. There isnβt really a "magic button" that does it all though, surely, one day there will be! π
I have a question regarding the Community Comments extension. Is it possible to configure it so that only posts in selected categories use Community Comments instead of the default WordPress comments, and only those posts appear in the community?
For example, news articles use the default WordPress comments, while product posts use custom comments box. Posts are also organized into separate categories, so I'm wondering if it's possible to enable Community Comments only for posts in selected categories and display only those posts in the community.
Hi,
Thanks for your question, and good news: this is already possible today!
In Community Comments β Settings:
- Set the main space to "WordPress comments".
- Under "By category", choose a community space for each category that should use Community Comments. The others stay on "WordPress comments".
Only posts in those categories will appear in the community. All other posts keep their usual comments.
And if you'd like to make an exception for a specific post, the "Community discussion" checkbox in the post editor lets you turn it on or off.
Feel free to try the other extensions too: they're free and easy to use. The best way to see what they can bring you is to give them a try!
And if more questions come up, you're welcome to share them in the extension's topic in the community. Other users are probably wondering the same thing, and it will help them too.
Have a great day, and talk soon!
Dragan STAMENKOVICΒ Thanks, that helps a lot because I don't want every post to use this extension.
Also, I would like to bring your attention that your videos load in low quality and there is no way to change that.

MarekΒ They are automatically played from YouTube via Fluent Player. You should be able to change the quality in the settings.
Dragan STAMENKOVICΒ the settings panel does not give the option to change video resolution.
love it!
