Questions re making parts of my community private

Hello I hope someone can help. I am in a rush to get my community up after waiting half a year for suredash. It now appears I need suremembers to do what I want so wanted to see how easy it is with fluent community.

I am taking payments for my courses on payhip - 10 different courses.
I want to add these people to communities that connect to that specific course, while also giving them access to the free community but keeping the other paid communities private.

Does FC do this out of the box? Can I just manually add someone to a community? Or do I need additional Fluent products to make this happen?

Thanks for any info.

Can't you control what spaces and courses are private, public, or secret? In the course, you have access controls and same as Spaces. Looks like as an Admin, you can manually add people. Did that answer your question?

Tanya Robinson

Kevin WatsonΒ Thanks. So does that mean nothing else is required to achieve this?

Kevin Watson

Tanya RobinsonΒ I am still learning like you! I am currently building a community and trying to figure out all the nuances.

It looks like people can be Members and then your Spaces and Courses can have access controls that you can manually add people to if you don't want them to see right away. I am not sure if payments for course auto-add people or you then provide access. I am still trying to figure this out.

You can always do it manually however if you use fluentcrm (free version too) you can create tags and create an automation, making your life easier.

Kevin Watson

J VΒ How can you automate different tags to different people with the base signup form?

J V

Kevin WatsonΒ You don't. You make a tag and add it to the space or course. You create an automation to add the tag to the subscriber.
Space or course can be private or even hidden depending on your process. You need to just have a look and play around a bit with it. Do you have a staging site?

J VΒ I am playing around for sure. I am fairly new to using CRM tools, and very new to Fluent. I do have a site I am working on in order to learn how to build with FluentCommunity. I need to create a few signups and test how these things integrate. I am a sponge though, and taking it all in.

Kevin WatsonΒ You should have no problem figuring it out and this community is always ready to help out.

Tanya RobinsonΒ are you still working on this? Let’s figure this all out together. I’m getting my community set up too, trying to figure it all out.
