Question about the Chat/Message area in this community
Is the Chat/Message area meant to be only for DMs with individuals? Or are we supposed to see feeds coming in from an entire Space?
I don't know how/when this happened but, when I view my Chat/Message area, I see a "FluentCommunity" chat at the top, then individual DMs below that.

Is this expected or some kind of bug? I don't want to see the feed in my Chat window as the notification pops up almost every day. I've also joined and posted in other Spaces but don't see any feeds for those added in the Chat/Messages area, so how did the FluentCommunity chat get there?
Also, aren't we able to delete/hide chats and messages we don't need or no longer want/need to see? If I press the 3 vertical dots, there is only a "Leave Space" option for the FluencCommunity chat, and only a "Block User" option for individual user chats.
It is working as designed. I believe you can enable chat for each space as desired. That is why you see the FluentCommunity chat along with DMs. The built-in chat functionality could use some improvements.
Thomas Oates Thamks, is this something that the users can opt out of?
I also noticed that, on the upper right side of this Posts page, there are buttons like Posts, Members and Chat in this space. When I checked the spaces of other products, none of them at Chat there so perhaps this is a feature they've enabled just for this particular space?
Either way, as you said I think that area could use more UX improvements. Need the option to delete/hide specific chats, or leave the chat but remain in the space. Right now it seems like none of these options are available.
Xopher It's been brought up before but unfortunately you can't opt out. As a site admin you can enable group chats for your spaces individually. If you enable it for a space, all members who join that space are added to the group chat. As a member you the only way you can leave the chat is to leave the space. Hopefully we'll be able to leave or mute a chat independently from space membership soon.
