If I create three separate secret groups (Doctors, Engineers, and Architects), will members of each group be able to see members , or will they only have visibility within their own group?
If you go to /portal/space/[space_slug]/members, you can see every member in that particular space. A user who is not a member of this secret space does not have access to this page.
If you go to /portal/members, you can see all members of the site, no matter which space they joined or not joined. However, you can choose not to show this menu item if you wish.
This is just my observation. Hope it makes sense.
Secret Group is secret: Only admin and members added to the group by an admin can access that group posts, member lists, etc. It's completely invisible to the public or other members.

Shahjahan Jewel, if there is a Fluent Community dedicated for Agency Clients and we don't want any member/Client to see each other (cannot tag/mention, see other users in the Top All Members directory or access other users Profile URL directly) so in this case we need to use only secret spaces right (One Client = One Secret Space)? I am asking just to make sure that Clients will never discover each other in any way (including manually typing other client User Profile etc).
But if in this above case we will have at least one Private space or Public separate then these Clients will see each other when they will be added/joined those visible Spaces?
Mat , Yes, it could be problematic if client discovers each other and start discussing offerings.
Manoj Sharma, exactly and this tool can be used as a nice platform for dealing with our clients as long as there will be such a directory/Space separation in place.
Shahjahan Jewel, I believe it’s not ideal to expose all members across spaces. If a user isn’t a member of a specific space, they shouldn’t be able to message members of that space. The same goes for access to personal links, like website and social profiles—users should only see these if they share the same space.
Currently, all members are visible, but users should only see a list of members who belong to their space, not everyone across all spaces.
Am I missing something, or does this approach make sense?
Test this as a logged in user who is not a member of any space.
Ryk Melck, just wondering what will happen (if there will be some limits in viewing other Members) if a new joiner doesn't belong to any Space and the user is unable to join for some reason to any space - what the user should do in this case.
Probably in that case the user needs to just contact the admin via email/support ticket (user shouldnt even use the Chat since the user should not see any other users -especially if the user is a Free user).
Once the new user will join a Public Space (it there will be any available) the user will get access to the Members page/tagging etc.
Cureently all Private Spaces can be viewed by that new joiner - all Private spaces users can be seen etc.
Maybe the solution would be to disable even tagging/mentions, users profiles and Members directory so we won't expose all users to our new joiner/guest/visitor (especially when fCommunity is a Public Community for non logged-in users etc).
Ps. Maybe all users could decide if their profile and/or tagging should be visible to Public or only in Private and/or Secret Spaces (in Secret spaces Admin only could decide if sharing users data between Members).
