QR Code Virtual Membership Cards for FluentCommunity
I've been consistently recommending FluentCommunity to clients building community websites, and it's been fantastic. However, there's one feature request that keeps coming up from 8 out of 10 clients: virtual membership cards with QR code scanning.
The use case is simple but powerful:
- Community members get a scannable QR code (digital membership card).
- When scanned, it displays their membership info, status, and benefits.
- Perfect for member verification at events, stores, or partner locations.
- Enables instant access to discounts, free products, and exclusive perks.
This would be a game-changer for communities that offer real-world benefits and want to bridge online membership with offline experiences.
Has anyone else experienced this demand from clients?
I'd love to hear if others are seeing similar requests or have found workarounds. This seems like it could benefit the entire FluentCommunity ecosystem.

At work I built a solution for event attendance to work with user accounts, Fluent Booking, and fCRM.
Used qrcode.js for code generation on the site, and html5-qrcode for the scanner on a separate web app for staff to use.
Both libraries were great, and worked together very well and I can highly recommend them if you want to build your own QR code system!

FlowMattic has a new feature for creating QR codes as part of a workflow (https://flowmattic.com/integration/qr_generator/). I haven't tested it but, in theory, using it could allow for creating a QR code when various events happen in FluentCommunity.
Thomas Oates Yes. Uncanny Automator, too. But I haven't tried it yet.
If you get no joy from WPMN on this I would be happy to talk about a custom solution.
