Q&A Functionality with FluentCommunity – any plans or existing approaches?

Hello FluentCommunity Team and fellow users,

first of all – thank you for building such a focused and user-friendly community solution for WordPress! We’re using FluentCommunity on a private members-only subdomain for our non-profit Buddhist organization, and it’s working really well.

Recently, some of our members asked if we could offer a Q&A section, in the sense of something similar to StackOverflow, Quora, or Reddit-style threads:

where users can ask a question (one topic per thread),

others can reply, and optionally upvote or mark one answer as accepted,

and where everything is organized clearly by topic or tag, not just by date.

I understand FluentCommunity is more geared toward social interaction, activity feeds, groups, and messaging (which we love), but: → Are there any plans to introduce Q&A-style functionality? → Or has anyone in the community already built a Q&A-like workflow using existing FluentCommunity tools?

Even a recommended workaround would be welcome (e.g., using groups or posts with structured formats and a bit of manual moderation).

Thanks in advance for any suggestions – and keep up the great work!

Chris

Literally just yesterday, I was thinking about the Q&A idea and came to the conclusion that it can be done using the existing Spaces. I’d simply create a new Space called “Q&A” and make it mandatory to choose a topic when posting. This way, we’d have a dedicated area for questions, where everything can be easily filtered by topic.

Chris Sounds like a decent solution for now. Comment threads can be ordered by number of Likes as well, so can function for voting and ordering by votes.

Thank you Chris and Ross for your suggestions, which I will try out. Best to all of you, Cheers.
