Posting images and restricting access
i am trying to set up a classroom where only mods and parents can access to see images of their kids in class. do we have ability to set permissions per group (i would be setting up a group/area just for those).
where are images stored so i can keep track of space on server.
also, is there a search functionality in communities/groups/posts?
If you need to restrict it to only the parents of the child, that would be difficult but if it's the classroom parents, then you'd set up each space as private and only members of the space can see the discussion.
There are a couple options for storing images so that would be up to you.
Yes, there are search features just like here in this community.
Without knowing exactly what you're teaching and your structure, I'd do something like:
- Space Group 1 = Name of your school/program
- Discussion Space 1 = Start Here/Welcome (private)
- Discussion Space 2 = Announcements (public or private depending on your needs)
- Space Group 2 = school year
- Discussion space for each class - I'd make them secret because it will get confusing for everyone after some time with all of the years and besides, no one should be able to join another classroom.
- Maybe a discussion space for that year's announcements (instead of there only being 1 for everyone)
Wendy Shoef thank you wendy its sounds like what i wanted to do, but could you elaborate on the storing images bit, ie where does fluentcommunity allow it? Local server its on or s3/pcloud etc?
