Possible to Create a Highly Usable Community if You Don't Have Other Fluent Plugins?

I installed and am setting up my community, but I got a bit concerned because a lot of what it takes to make the community function as I want appears to require a heavy use of other Fluent plugins.

I understand that this plugin is part of the Fluent ecosystem, but I use plugins/software that aren't Fluent, and it seems like I have to purchase and use the other Fluent plugins to make it work fully.

For example, I use GravityForms vs FluentForms.

I use High Level for my CRM and automation, but a lot of the automation to give people access uses FluentCRM.

I use both High Level and ThriveCart for checkout, not WooCommerce or Paymattic.

I'm wondering if I'll need to purchase the other Fluent plugins to get all the magic of Fluent Community to work properly or if I'll be good if I stick to the stuff I already have.

I already purchased FCommunity so it's not a matter of whether I see the value or not. I do. I just didn't expect the heavy use of the other Fluent plugins to have it function as I envisioned.

Same question here. I think everything to monetize the community should be baked into Pro. And that means recurring subscriptions. If I need FluentForms and FluentCRM for each site then it’s a show stopper.

Possible yes, but I guarantee you it’s not going to hurt your site to install FluentCRM. It’s actually quite lite, and will come in handy to set up some automation. You don’t need to use the emailing option etc. Fluentcrm has an integration with thrive as wel.

Ryk Melck, I appreciate your reply. Hurting my site is one concern, but the bigger thing is having another place to manage my contacts and automation outside of the CRM and automation that I already use. In other words, it would add more time, effort, and complexity to my tech stack rather than simplifying it.

I'm just concerned with adding more to the software/plugin mix when the main reason I'm considering a WP-powered community is to remove software and platforms I'd have to use otherwise.

I get your perspective - I'm heavily invested in the Fluent-verse but I don't use the CRM so no automations available that way. I'm currently exploring adding Flowmattic into the tech stack to solve this (+ add some other automations). Flowmattic has already created their integration with Fluent Community. And I fully expect Flowmattic competitors to also build FC integrations.

Heavy GravityForms user here, too. The user registration add on helps tons. https://www.gravityforms.com/add-ons/user-registration/

Perhaps something like this might work to manage wordpress subscriber access when the subscription expires: https://wordpress.org/plugins/manage-gravity-forms-stripe-subscriptions/

I haven't tried that last one, and I'm still trying to find a way to suspend unpaid recurring subs on our FComm.
