Pin to Sidebar vs Pin to Top

Can we get these two to show the post differently? I don't want to show the whole post in the feed, but I do want to pin the post to the sidebar.

No matter how I pin a post, it displays the whole post in the feed instead of a having a "Show more" link.

Pin the post to sidebar should just do that. Can we get it to not show the entire post in the feed by default? I understand the pin to top function shows the whole post, but it should be treated differently than the pin to sidebar function. Thanks for considering.
