Patreon - like community/platform/marketplace - is it possible?
Hey there.
What I want to create is a one more-generic but still specialised community around a topic that has public channels/discussions which is similar to Reddit let's say but also to allow similarly to Circle or Patreon for content creators to have their own channels that they can charge for (and we act as the platform for that and collect some kind of commission).
Is it possible for this to happen with FluentCommunity - either in standard installation with configuration, plugins, and customization, or as a multi-site installation where the main site is the public community and the subsites are the creators' own communities where they charge for? Does Fluent Community work in a WP Multisite environment, and what is the licensing? would appreciate any help, and/or directions on where to dig to see if I can make this concept happen.
If it's like Skool - one domain with many private paid groups - then private spaces + pay walls would do it I think? You'd create a private space, make the owner a moderator, and set up the paywall to their liking/pricing. The paywall could be internal then you'd need to distribute funds (maybe use fluentaffiliates? Or each creator could link to their own payment page and you could provide them a webhook that grants access to only their space which they add to their checkout process.
Ross FCAΒ so it seems this wouldn't work this way :(
Generally as you mentioned there are two main issues to solve:
- The access tothe communities - both the creator's admin/ownership and the users that can have multiple subscriptions
- The payment distribution like a marketplace.
