Onboarding Wizard That Updates User Profile Fields

Hi Shahjahan Jewel  I’d like to know if it’s possible to set up an onboarding wizard in Fluent Community that automatically opens right after a new user registers.

The idea would be to show a short step-by-step flow (e.g. asking if the user is in high school or university, their course/field of interest, main goals, etc.) before they access the main feed.

Ideally, the answers given in this onboarding flow would already populate some of the user’s profile fields, so that the profile is partially completed right from the start.

Is this something Fluent Community supports natively, or would I need to integrate with another plugin (like WP User Onboarding or a multi-step form) to achieve this?

Thanks

That's definitely not a native feature, but could be built using the provided hooks and filters.

Ross FCA that would be a great add-on to be built!

Great idea. Would love this

Seems like including these questions as part of the initial registration process would be easiest instead of trying to intercept the first login. I think it could be done with FluentForms or other form builders.

Thomas Oates Thanks for your input! I see what you mean, but in my opinion it’s actually easier for new users if the registration only asks for the basics (name + email), and then the onboarding wizard handles the rest after the first login.

If we add too many fields during registration, there’s a risk that people will drop off before completing the sign-up. A short, clean registration + a quick onboarding flow feels smoother and more user-friendly.

That’s why I was hoping Fluent Community could support a wizard right after registration, instead of making the sign-up form too heavy
