Notification symbol in chat

I find it a bit confusing how the notifications work for chat. I can see a notification at the chat symbol with the number of new messages. When I open the chat though I cannot see which specific chat has new messages. At least I would like to see which chat has new messages. Just like in WhatsApp or Facebook or Instagram for example, the number of new messages within a chat or at least a little dot that indicates there a new messages within this specific chat.

for example I joined FluentCommunity and FluentBoards group chats. I get notifications when I received new messages and when I open the chat tab I cannot see if FluentCommunity or FluentBoards has new messages.

I believe the order changes so the chats with new messages move to the top, but when I have several chats (say 5) and I have 4 new notifications, I have to guess if all 4 messages come from chat #1 or if each chat #1 #2 #3 and #4 has one new message.

I hope you understand what I mean.
