Multiple domain names for a same Fluent Community ?
Hello. I have 3 domain names such as www.mydomain.fr, www.mydomain.com, www.mydomain.it. Iβd like to use them within a single FC instance in order to keep the same database for our different domain names. In this way, people could switch from the different communities using an unique login and password.
Do I need an unique FC licence or three FC licences?
Is that possible? How should I proceed? If one licence is enough, probably each site (each domain) would become a "space" within FC? But how would this be done technically?
I would like to avoid subdomain like fr.mydomain.com or it.mydomain.com to access the 3 sites but direct domains.
If 3 FC licences are needed, how could I keep the same database for the three sites (in order to switch from a site to another with the same login)...?
Thanks a lot.
Since you are asking this question, I think it would be correct to answer as follows: Each website or subdomain requires a separate license.
However, you can redirect to the main domain. Or if you need three websites and a shared user base, use the plugin from the publication.https://community.wpmanageninja.com/portal/space/community-meta/post/wp-remote-users-sync-integrat
p.s.
I don't recommend spreading yourself too thin across multiple websites. Start with at least one, launch a working version in production, and then it will be clear what to do next.
p.s.
Remember that there is a free version of Fcom.
Artur AbakarovΒ thanks but they can keep an unique database of users?
ProsperΒ can using the pluginWP Remote Users Sync
thanks for the completed answer!
I cannot find a reason for this complex construction. What would be the benefit of it making it this way?
Maybe you are asking the wrong question here? If I am correct you are providing for different languages, so I would say either keep it all separate and buy three licenses, or make a space for each language. A domain will not be a space within the site either way.
J VΒ Thanks for answer. These are three fairly large communities that already exist and are currently separate (outside of FC). Each has its own website and therefore its own domain, but they cover closely related topics (mostly the same users). Users have asked to be able to move from one community to another (from one domain to another) using the same credentials, i.e., with a single user database. So before migrating to FC, Iβm trying to determine the best strategy to adopt.
J VΒ Artur AbakarovΒ if the 3 FC communities (with 3 different domain names) are on the same wordpress (on the same machine), it's useless to use WP Remote Users Sync, isn't it? In this case, it should be enough to use the multisite feature of wp no? https://developer.wordpress.org/advanced-administration/multisite/create-network/
