Moderation Features
Hi all!
Does anyone know if there's a plugin/add-on that extends the moderation features of FluentCommunity, or if there are plans to extend the base moderation features?
Some of the things I would like are:
- Silence or suspend people for a set amount of time so they can't post in the community.
- Prevent people from messaging anyone but the moderators and admins.
- Ban users (possibly by IP address even).
- Automatically hide a post that has a set number of downvotes/reports/flags until moderators can handle it.
- Send out automated warnings to people who have had messages flagged multiple times.
- When users are reporting a post, allow them to select the reason why the post is being reported. Maybe you could even allow us to customise these reporting criteria to fit our terms and conditions.
- Statistics that show the frequency of reported/flagged posts that a user has received.
- Statistics that show why a person was flagged/reported, and possibly also what the most common flags/reports are in the community.
- When someone has been banned from a community, they get redirected to a specific page where it explains that they have been banned and gives them the ability to appeal through FluentSupport.
- For people with a subscription who are banned, integration with FluentCart to automatically cancel their future subscriptions.
- An audit log of moderator actions that we can export if any legal problems arise.
- Add internal notes on users and flags so that moderators can be more trasparent with one another about cases.
- Moderation history on a user's profile.
- A community-wide moderation dashboard that the moderators can access which shows the aforementioned data/stats, as well as any outstanding flags.
- Possibly a tiered system where more trusted community members' flags are worth more when it comes to hiding someone else's posts. That would allow us to devalue the flags of someone known to flag anyone they dislike.
- A place where we can list who the data protection officer is, and allow people to message or send a ticket to them if necessary.
Perhaps you could even integrate this even more with FluentSupport! So we can turn a post into a ticket if we need to deal with a report more seriously.
Extending moderation is pretty important for UK and EU customers, particularly because of the Digital Services Act (EU) 2022/2065, which makes us responsible as community owners for a lot of this stuff.
The statistics in the moderation section would be useful because they would be a preventative measure as well as a reactive one. We could see what issues keep coming up over and over again and find ways to address them through our community culture and terms and conditions.
Obviously, those are a lot of features and I know that not all of them would necessarily be possible, but even a few would make a huge difference to us in the EU and help us to stay compliant of the laws!
It would also be useful to have a Terms and Conditions area in the community and if we update it, we force everyone to re-agree to it.
Shahjahan JewelΒ are there any plans to extend the moderation features on FluentCommunity in the future?
When I say moderation history on a user's profile, ideally this would only be visible by moderators.
Some of the things you're requesting for I think are already in FC, like flag, ban, report
WiLson EberechiΒ It's more how they're handled. I know you can flag someone, for example, but what happens to the post as it's being flagged (is their post automatically hidden or do we wait for a moderator), or IP ban, or taking community features away from people who are still on the courses but can't be trusted to message anyone.
Shani CiproΒ wow so many feature requests.
You do know know everything members request for would be made?
So you can create an add-ons for that
WiLson EberechiΒ "Obviously, those are a lot of features and I know that not all of them would necessarily be possible, but even a few would make a huge difference to us in the EU and help us to stay compliant of the laws!"
Some points are really great.
