Modal View on both Timeline and List view

Can we have this as a feature on both views please?

At the moment it only applies to timeline view and is great as users just open and close modals and return to the place they were at in timeline...

List view opens each post as a seperate page load then have to click back button in browser to return to space. Goes back to top of list though so active groups with lots of posts means users lose there place in the list and have to scroll back to where they were...
