Memberpress or any Membership integration
I want to get a payment/access control gate for my fluentcommunity. I'm planning to use paidmembership pro or another plugin I found https://codecanyon.net/item/ultimate-membership-pro-wordpress-plugin/12159253
Can I use this with FluentCommunity to for my payment/membership level access? I don't want to purchase any more plugins i.e. fluentcrm, fluentforms, etc.

You can control access to your community based on user role type which is native to WordPress. The setting is already in the Fluent Community settings panel. Most membership plugins, if not all, allow you to set a user role based on registration and/or based on paid subscription to the service. For example, some could register on the website and they are given the role ‘subscriber’. If they then pay for membership via the membership plugin, they could be allocated the role ‘Member’ which could give them access to the community. This can then work in reverse. Once their membership expires or they choose not to renew the user role type can automatically change back to ‘subscriber’ so they no longer have access to the community.
If you wanted to get more granular, like having paid subscriptions for specific spaces and courses, you would need FluentCRM and use the tagging system. FluentCRM has integrations with some of the major memberships plugins like Paid Membership Pro, Restrict Content Pro and MemberPress. It also supports Woo as well so you could use Woo Memberships, subscriptions and so on.
Those are the options I’m aware of at the minute but they should cover most use cases. No doubt the dev team and other plugin devs will expand on this as the community plugin matures.
Tony Baker Yes, with roles you can manage access to portal, but if fluentcrm is mandatory in sites wich doesn't use it, is a mess.
Edmundo Pérez just to expand on my answer a little, there are multiple ways this can be approached even at this stage with the product released 2 weeks ago. You could use Flowmattic to control individual space access. It was first to market to utilise the API of Fluent Community. No doubt Uncanny Automator and others will do the same. I also requested that individual spaces could also be controlled on a ‘per user role’ basis which would allow 2-level access natively to Fluent Community.
To say that it’s ’a mess’ is completely unfair to the dev team who built it. Jewel and the team are working exceptionally hard to refine this product with multiple updates alone in the last few weeks since launch based on user feedback. Think about what’s you are saying before you are writing it. Would you like to be told your product is ‘a mess’ for not meeting specific use cases after 2 weeks?

Edmundo Pérez my point exactly. It’s not Twitter. It’s a private community by the developer who built the product. We all need to be mindful of that. It’s great to give constructive feedback and make feature requests, which is the entire point of this community and the dev team have been very welcoming of the feedback.
