Managing access for members across groups, spaces & courses
Hello,
I’m having trouble understanding the logic and flow when it comes to managing members across groups, spaces, and courses.
I’ve set up a community where I’ve created dedicated groups, spaces, and courses for individual companies. Access to these areas is restricted to employees of the respective company. I’ve used FluentForms and FluentCRM to create the necessary registration forms, contact lists, and tags. Within each group, employees can view the profiles of other team members.
Additionally, I’ve created a public group with its own space and several courses that are intended to be accessible to all members of the community, regardless of which company they belong to—or even if they don’t belong to any company at all. However, in this public group, user profiles should not be visible to other members.
For registration to the public group, I’d like to use the default FluentCommunity registration form, which works well so far.
However, I’ve run into the following issues:
- A regular user cannot self-enroll in a course that belongs to the public group (even though the user is a member of that group) when the course is set to "Private." The "Enroll" button does not appear.
- When a member from a different group joins the public group, they also don’t see an "Enroll" button for the course, despite being a member of the group.
Also, when I enable the lock screen for the course in the public group, it’s unclear which button or link I should use to allow members to register or gain access to the course.
Could you please help me clarify this setup?
Best regards,
Sascha
